I am brave, enthusiastic, and genuine.
My Self-Summary
I'm a transplant from Portland, OR, working in green business here
in Denver.
I'm not really looking for a long-term relationship right now. I
wouldn't shirk one, if it happens to come up, but I'm focusing on
myself and what i need for the time being. I'm also not very good
at responding to messages in a timely fashion, so my apologies if i
take a while.
I am: a treehugger, a word-lover, tetris champ, sometimes poet,
sometimes photographer, businesswoman, a traveler,
risk-taker.
I was born in detroit, have lived in north carolina, sweden,
france, various parts of oregon, california, and now here. I love
to travel.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to live intentionally.
i proselytize for the environment.
More specifically, I run the Colorado office of green business
promotional company. I spend a lot of time meeting with small,
green businesses working to make the world a better place. I came
to sustainable business through work in social justice and gender
equity, with the realization that it's all related to working
toward my ideal community.
I’m really good at
thinking on my feet, going big, tetris, trying out new recipes,
being friends with men, spontaneous road trips,
I like: learning how to use my camera, long walks around parts of
the city i haven't seen, good conversation, dancing, sunday
breakfasts, skiing, getting better at things, trivia nights,
finding new local music, biking with no hands, trying new things,
doing wild-west-colorado-things, laughing, theater, winning.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
books: cat's cradle, manifesta, bridging the class divide, a
heartbreaking work of staggering genius, the chosen, most of chuck
palahniuk books, pretty much anything by david sedaris, 1984, the
sun magazine (I know, not a book, but soooo good.)
movies: eternal sunshine, spellbound, most things bill murray is
in, newsies, fame, the darjeeling limited --- most of the movies in
my netflix queue are documentaries, I've realized. I like a good
story.
music: the avett brothers, quiet countries, menomena, iron and
wine, bon iver, the national, ani, ratatat, clem snide, great lake
swimmers, paul simon (and garfunkel), wilco, josh ritter, the
beatles, otis redding, talk demonic, tv on the radio... you can
listen to my last.fm library if you like:

food: I'm trying to think of an ethnic food I don't care for and
i'm not really coming up with anything. I love ethiopian food, I
don't think my life would be as good if it weren't for avocados,
and i make a mean lasagna.
podcasts: (I'm adding this because I'm pretty addicted right now.)
the moth, stuff you should know, npr story of the day, this
american life, radiolab (arguably, the best thing on the radio
right now)
The six things I could never do without
friends, good food, music, my bike, playing outside, learning new
things
things that I would be less happy without: coffee, not waking up to
an alarm at least once a week, sex, weekend brunch, independent
film.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what's next.
also; why people do what they do, behavior change, sales
psychology, what the most inapproprite thing i could do at any
given time might be, what it would feel like to get hit by a car,
the environment.
On a typical Friday night I am
going to see some live music, out with friends, at a dinner
party/bbq/movie night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
i pretty much never want to be wearing shoes, and most of the time,
would rather not be wearing pants.
You should message me if
you have something interesting to say, or you think we could have
some interesting conversations together.
pluses:
-you have something you're passionate about
-you're sarcastic and/or like to laugh
-you have a sense of humor about yourself
minuses:
-you're a jerk
-you wear a bluetooth headset all the time, even when you're not on
the phone.
