I am a 30 year old high school English teacher from Houston. I just completed my masters in school counseling, and I am working towards my LPC (licenses professional counselor) certification right now. As much as I love the classroom, I am really looking forward to specifically working with students in crisis.

I really love to travel. In addition to traveling all over the U.S., I have been to Australia, Africa, and Europe. India is next on my list. I really want to go volunteer at an orphanage in Delhi for a few weeks next summer. My heart is geared towards service and social justice issues. In fact, after college I committed to a year long volunteer experience that changed my life. Ask me about it sometime!

I am really active in my church and my faith in Jesus is the cornerstone of my life. I love music (I play a little guitar and piano, as well as sing) and photography. I love spending time with my family, friends, and my Border Collie, Dylan. I am also a proud Texas Aggie girl! Whoop!

I am on OK Cupid because I want to fall in love and share my life with someone. More than anything, I want to be a wife and mother. I live in a family oriented suburb so it's really hard to meet people and the whole bar / club scene is totally not for me. We'll see what happens!

Right now I teach 9th grade English at a local high school. I love my job. Teaching is really challenging, but I really feel that I am making a difference and that is so important to me. I love the opportunity I have to get teenagers to look at the world in a new way, and not only learn about Shakespeare or Homer, but also to learn a little bit more about who they are as human beings.

One thing I am not really good at: bragging!

I am passionate about music. I lead worship at my church fairly regularly and it is such a huge piece of my soul.

I am passionate about my job and my commitment to my students. I love what I do.

I think people also notice my smile / positive attitude. I have people tell me a lot that I am always happy. It takes a lot to get me upset.

Music: Adele, Mumford and Sons, Ingrid Michaelson, Foo Fighters, Hillsong United, Ray Lamontagne, The Civil Wars, Dave Barnes, Brooke Fraser, Lady Antebellum, Joshua Radin, the list goes on...

Food: Sushi and Mexican would probably be my two favorites but I am not too picky!

Often with my family or hanging out with friends. I am perfectly happy with a good movie or book, playing games with people I love (bonus points for you if you have played Settlers of Catan before!), etc. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

I went to a Nickelback concert in high school. I don't want to talk about it...

You think we might have something in common, you want to get to know me a bit better, or if you just need someone to talk to. I am a great listener (hence the counseling degree) and who couldn't use another friend? That's how the best relationships start anyway.
