Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey there! My name is Sara. I am a high school English / Social
Action teacher from the north side of Houston. I am a proud Aggie
girl and just completed my masters in counseling. I really love to
travel. In addition to traveling all over the U.S., I have been to
Australia, Africa, and many parts of Europe. India is next on my
My heart is geared towards service and social justice issues.
Currently I teach a social justice course at my high school. I love
being able to bring students into the reality of real humanitarian
issues that are happening in the world.
I am really active in my church and my faith in Jesus is the
cornerstone of my life. I love music (I play a little guitar and
piano, as well as sing) and I often lead worship at my
Also for those who are familiar with Myers Briggs, I am an
Those are the basics, I guess! :-)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now school pretty much dominates my life. I love my job.
Teaching is really challenging, but I really feel that I am making
a difference and that is so important to me.
Eventually, as I mentioned, I plan to transition out of teaching to
work in a counseling practice of some kind. I don't know how far
down the road that will be, though.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
One thing I am not really good at: bragging! This question is hard
I would say that I really care about people and their lives. I am a
good listener. I look at the bright side of a situation and I don't
let little things get the best of me.
I am also good at grading stacks of really bad Romeo and Juliet
essays without losing my mind! :-)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think people notice my smile / positive attitude. I have people
tell me a lot that I am always happy. People also notice my eyes.
I'm not even sure exactly what color they are. Blue? Green? I don't

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Often with my family or hanging out with friends. I am perfectly
happy with a good movie or book, playing games with people I love
(bonus points if you have played Settlers of Catan or Cards Against
Humanity before!), etc. It doesn't take much to make me happy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Humm... I saw Nickelback in concert when I was in high school. I
don't care who you are; that's pretty embarrassing.
I also really like Hallmark original movies. They all have
pratically the same plot and are totally cheesy, but I can't help
it. I love them all. Hey, I'm a romantic.
