My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like trying out new things - recently, I started bouldering with some friends. It's nice to notice how one gets better with some practice.
I sometimes feel overwhelmed by how short our life is compared to all the things one can do.

Doing sports, I take pleasure from the feeling of being in the moment, and it also provides satisfaction of having done something healthy afterwards. I prefer team sports like volleyball, but also enjoy the one-on-one competition of tennis - I play about once or twice a month with a colleague.

When I'm around my home town, my friends and I often visit our to-go bar on the week-end. Alternatively, we enjoy watching something new in the english theater or trying to wrap our heads around the rules of a new board game.

I like meditation. When stressed, it helps me put things into perspective, and when calm, its just some enjoyable leisure time. Meditating in small groups is one of the most potent experiences I had, and I like to share this kind of experience with others, if they are so inclined.

I also like visiting new places. If I can combine it with sports, its the best of both worlds. This summer, I went trekking to Thuringia with my best friend. He's a biologist, and it was an amazing tour. We saw some really rare plants, and a deer crossed our path only two meters ahead of us. It was a beautiful moment.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I moved about three years ago, to Bad Soden Salmünster. Several good friends of mine live in Frankfurt, so I spend lots of my free time there. We organise a meet-up together, discussing and debating several topics such as altruism, politics, psychology and sometimes math/computer-science related stuff. On the week-ends, I often visit friends from my university time who live all over Germany.

Work is an important part of my life: I'm in a small business consultancy that was founded just 6 years ago, and being able to contribute to its growth is intensely satisfying. We try to keep work and life balanced, though, so I usually have enough free time on my hands.

I'm politically interested and love discussions on politics, philosophy and economics. The pace of current developments is stunning, we're living in very interesting times indeed. Currently, I'm not actively participating in politics, but I ponder becoming more active in the SPD after finishing a time-intensive learning program I'm taking part in for the next two years.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
The first things that came into my mind were sports and making people laugh by laughing myself.

The same friend as above and below told me that I'm really good at analytical problem-management and rational thinking - which I hope is true, but sometimes doubt.
The first things people usually notice about me

I asked a good friend about this. I know him for quite a while, so I can't be sure he remembers exactly what he first noticed. What he told me was: physically, I have a really distinctive chin. Concerning my behavior, he first noticed that I talk very deliberately, sometimes making breaks to find the most fitting word.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I like reading fiction. It helps to alleviate stress. While non-fiction can have the same effect, I'm not always in the mood to digest something by Kahnemann directly after work. Among the fictional works I enjoy, there's a lot of science fiction and fantasy. I kind of hit the lucky pot - a very prolific writer (John McCrae) started out with a science fiction/superhero story and currently writes a fantasy story. He publishes two to three chapters per week, which is a nice pace.

I'm not a big movie-goer, I prefer shows. The last movie I watched in cinema was The Hobbit, Part Two.

Shows are really time-intensive, especially as I share the bad habit of binge-watching with most of the internet. There aren't any shows I currently watch, as both Doctor Who and Game of Thrones are between seasons.

My taste in music hasn't changed a lot since I was a teen - I mainly listen to metal, with some pop, rock and other genres sprinkled in if the particular song happens to be something I enjoy.

Vegetarian food can be really good. My absolute favorite are Swabian noodles.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- A healthy measure of fun with friends. I'm pretty success-oriented and sometimes need a reminder to relax
- My family. I have six elder siblings and loads of uncles and aunts. We're pretty close to each other, and I like being part of their lives.
- Skype. A lot of the people I'm close to live far away, and I want to stay connected.
- Sports. Bodily activity just feels great, I wouldn't want to miss that kind of feeling.
- Work. Apparently, there are many people who don't like there jobs, so I'm very happy to have found something that appeals to me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a perfectionist, so sometimes I doubt myself more than what would be warranted.
