I am a person that thrives on physical activity. I like sports and going out dancing -but that's getting rarer as my gal pals are getting married off!

I am well educated and a trivia buff. My majors at school were political science and I minored in history. In my down time I like to read. It helps me recover!

I do balance my activities with a lot of home stuff. I watch movies and indulge in the occasional computer game. In the summer weeding my garden can range from relaxing to frustrating!

I enjoy a lively political debate. I listen to NPR radio and the BBC online. I love "the Current."

I am working for a CPA doing tax prep. It's great job the money is good and I get a summer vacation. Just like being back in school.

The down time starts in May and is brilliant and it gives me time to pursue hobbies and really enjoy life.

Soccer games 1-2 times a week and same with hockey. For other exercise I walk and lift weights (mainly for tone.)

Babysitting my 2 year old niece five days a week now in the morning. Soon I will be sitting a newborn and a two year old!

At soccer. There's nothing I'd rather be doing. The wind in your hair, a ball at your feet, and opponents who's only goal in life is to deny you what you want...victory. It's great exercise and I would encourage anyone of a more sturdy character to try it out.

I'm getting good at putting a fussy babies down for a nap too. My (barely) adequate singing skills help.

I never smile. I am that grim anti-hero your mother warned you about. Not really.

I'm pretty quiet in groups, until I get to know people. Then you can't shut me up! I feel more comfortable in small groups. I do talk a lot and I like chatty people.

In all honesty you are going to have to tell me after we meet.

Movies: Are dvds not the greatest invention ever!? I have a collection of 200 and I am working on more. I am beginning to be a bit of a buff and getting into classics (i.e. earlier than the 70s.) Mysteries, action, war, westerns, and I even have a number of romantic comedies, and musicals. I am pretty well rounded in tastes, but I do not buy horror movies.

Recently I was asked what some movies I liked were. Here's a short list.

EL CID Old school Epics. Ben Hur, How the West Was Won.

African Queen Bogey is da bomb. Maltese Falcon, Casablanca, Treasure of Sierra Madres.

The Shootist Westerns. Anything by the Duke. Unforgiven, The Missing, Yuma, Shane, High Noon.

Apollo 13 Dramas. more to come...

Recent ones that I seen and like are: Gosford Park, Life Aquatic, Four Feathers (1939 Korda version 5 stars) Sideways, Children of Men, the Queen, Life Aquatic, and I could go on.

Music: My musical interests are all over the place. All time favorites would be the Connells, Depeche Mode, Cure, Erasure. Recent ones would be Death Cab for Cutie, Ingrid Michaelson, Bouncing Souls I like a variety of electronica, Crystal Method, Agnelli and Nelson, Fatboy Slim, trance, techno house is all good!

Books: I mostly read history, or mystery as they are the most rhyming of literary genres. Just kidding. I would read them even if they didn't rhyme. Currently various Agatha Christie and Stephen Ambrose books.

I also like terribly nerdy stuff of science fiction and fantasy: J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis being my favorites.

To Kill a Mocking Bird is probably the all time favorite novel.

The future. Where I want to be and whom I'd like to be with.

My next vacation! England, Italy and Germany would also be fun to go to. I love foreign cultures and just soaking in the ambiance of all the history.

Right now I am working. The beginning of February is when my job, tax prep, gets super busy. I work every day. I do still find time to enjoy myself though. When I am not busy I like to see what my friends (I call them "the gang") is up to.

In the summer we have a weekly pick up soccer game on Fridays at 6:00 and sometimes head out after that to various destinations. The easiest being Old Chicago or bar and grill. The bolder being a nightclub with dancing.

I don't tell actual private things. Or it would be a public thing.

Perhaps something nonsensical. I have a picture of H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth II of England in my room, when she was on tour in Canada with Prince Philip during the 1950s. It's just part of that getting in touch with my British heritage. Bonus point if you know what H.R.H stands for.

....you want a DANCE PARTNER! I really like techno. I have also taken some private salsa and some swing classes at Tapestry Dance and would like to try them out more.

...think we share some interests and would like to go out on a date! I am looking for a woman of distinct character that I can share interests and adventures with.
