My self-summary
Hi I'm Alex! I'm a California native, and I've lived here most of my life. I have gone to college out of state, and I've traveled a little bit around the country but I wouldn't really pass up coming back home.

I mainly joined this site to date and see what develops from there. I'm not opposed to long term relationship, but I don't like to put my expectations ahead of actually meeting someone. I'd prefer to go with the flow honestly.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a graduate of USC with a BA in History, and I'm an officer in the Army. In terms of post-graduate life, I'm still trying to figure it out.
I’m really good at
I've been Fencing for a while now, and I might start to get serious about it, competition wise, but that remains to be seen. Finding my way around new places, sticking to a goal, and memorizing things quickly/retaining information are among the other things I'm good at. I've been looking to ad a new hobby, besides job searching. I'm thinking of either taking up archery or some kind of martial art. I took Muay Thai for a while but I want to try something new.
The first things people usually notice about me
It's mainly body language that people pick up on. Mostly it's the way I walk. They usually say that I have a confident stride or something to that nature. Maybe my hair, or lack there of haha. I thinking the buzzed/shaved look is alright.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A Song of Ice and Fire, The Iliad/Odyssey, Gates of Fire, and any book revolving around history. When it comes to fiction novels or series I tend to get very involved with the whole universe of it, so its hard for me to move onto a new one.

Movies: I love of Sci-fi/adventure movies like Star Wars (VI being my favorite), but most of the time I like movies that have some historical basis. I'm not one to become overly picky about historical inaccuracies in movies. People seem to miss that one part at the beginning of movies where it says "BASED on historical accounts". I also like to watch a lot of old classic movies like Lawrence of Arabia and Ben Hur. That and I'll go ahead and watch whatever looks interesting in the theaters. I wouldn't say I'm a movie snob at all.

Shows: I don't have many shows I follow, but I'm a big fan of Game of Thrones, having already read the books. I'll watch the news mostly, and now that I have HBO I can finally watch channels like Boomerang and the Military Channel. I've been getting tired of the basic cable channels so having this new set channels has let me see shows/movies I haven't seen in ages.

Music: Anything really. I like 70s/80s/90s rock and classical music. I also like to listen to movie scores and soundtracks. Actually that's most of my library, I think I have about 40 gigs of music so far haha.

Foods: I am a big fan of Italian and Mexican cuisine. I've been told I have (and I know) I have a big appetite for pasta dishes.

Politics: Just because I'm in the military doesn't mean I'm a Fox News loving conservative. The only news I read are those outside of the U.S. like the BBC. My rational being that if its outside of the U.S. it'll have less of the biases we have here. I would say I'm a centrist, not too left or right. Just in the middle. No I'm not a Libertarian, that's way too far to the right for my liking.
The six things I could never do without
1. A good pair of noise-cancelling headphones.
2. A pull up bar or some form of jungle gym.
3. My ipod shuffle. I won't run without it.
4. My laptop.
5. A good pair of running shoes.
6. A goal, be it short term or long. I don't like to stay stagnant.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
1. How the ASOIAF series will end.
2. How to adjust my exercise routine.
3. What are the best routes I can take around LA and how to beat traffic.
4. How certain battles in history could have been won or lost.
5. The next big movie coming out.
6. Which book on my never ending "to read list" should I start next?
On a typical Friday night I am
Most of the time, its either spent discovering old movies I haven't seen on T.V. or playing video games. If not that I could be enjoying a fine meal, trudging through a paper I have to write, or reading a book. If I'm out and about I'm probably going out to eat (CPK, Cheesecake Factory, etc...).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like to people watch. Sometimes its just really interesting, and I like picking up on how people act. I'd say I'm pretty good at analyzing peoples facial responses.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 20–30
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating
You should message me if
You're actually interested in meeting early on. I'd rather talk in person than constantly messaging on here only for the conversation to fade away.

It's just that simple.
