Hi i'm Alex
I'm a country lad at heart and am currently living and working in Bucks and commuting into London for Uni (and the occasional night out on the town). I love travelling and like to find a bit of adventure and excitement in my life, wherever I find myself.

I love going out, seeing friends and doing things together, especially outdoor/active things but I can't stand clubs and would much rather spend evenings out doing something interesting or chatting in a bar than gyrating on a sticky dance floor!

Having finished my undergrad in Chinese i'm now studying for the GDL (law conversion) with a view to joining the Bar. I also work in a country pub on the side while seeking work in the city.

Also spent a year training with some Shaolin monks at an academy in central China as a sandwich year after my second year of uni. It was a great experience and I suppose i'm 'pretty ok' at Sanda, Kung Fu, Wing Chun and whatnot too...

Oh and I speak Chinese!

I listen to anything good that doesn't feature an over abundance of 'gats', 'bitches' and 'hoes'. I'm into a lot of classic rock, jazz and blues, although currently I just have Joe Bonamassa playing on repeat...
UPDATE: Saw Bonamassa live at Hammersmith Apollo the other night... just incredible.

Book wise i'll read anything by Tolkien, Pratchett or Pullman. Chuck Palahniuk also often makes an appearance in my reading list, along with Garth Nix, Orson Scott Card and Oscar Wilde. Other faves include Wild Swans, Catcher in the Rye, sense of an ending and the Game of Thrones series.

I watch pretty much anything that isn't completely awful but love a good epic or horror. Faves vary but Gladiator, Leon and Fight Club rarely stray from the top of the list and are usually accompanied by a couple of Tarantino flicks and a couple of half decent horror/thrillers, topped off with some more artsy creations such as The American, Bronson and Mirrormask.

I don't get much time for TV these days but faves have included The Walking Dead, White Collar, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Sherlock, Community and Firefly.

How much cooler it would be to wear a cravat instead of a tie.

Working! Although would much prefer to be climbing up at the rock gym or sharing a bottle of wine and some decent conversation with some friends on the other side of the bar!
