Books: I skew pretty hard to the fantasy/science fiction genres
here. I'm actually a big fan of (well-written) children's fiction
like CS Lewis, Susan Cooper, and Lloyd Alexander (Taran and Eilonwy
will always have a special place in my heart). Nowadays my favorite
books are the ones that make me think about really big ideas - Neal
Stephenson's Anathem may be my favorite science fiction
book ever. I also enjoyed Vernor Vinge's A Deepness in the
Movies: I like to jump around on Netflix and try to find movies I
wouldn't normally have watched. If the movie looks like it can hold
my attention for ~2 hours, I'll give it a shot.
Shows: Right now I'm just sad that I have to wait for the next
season of Game of Thrones. I also loved The West Wing.
Music: I have odd tastes in music. I mostly like whatever goes on
the oldies or pop rock stations, but I also love soundtracks to
movies, shows, or video games with good music. I really like music
that I can fall asleep to.
edit: apparently everyone on OKC has "eclectic" taste in
music, so I guess mine actually isn't...
Blogs: This category wasn't in the question, but since I read
several regularly I thought I'd throw it in. I read a lot of
economics/public policy blogs daily - Paul Krugman, The Money
Illusion, Marginal Revolution, Matt Yglesias, Modeled Behavior,
EconLog, Interfluidity and Worthwhile Canadian Initiative the most.
