Work takes up a lot of my time right now, but I'm trying to spend lots of time with friends and make lots of new ones, too.

My job is to make downtown Amherst a place that even more people want to be. I'm officially the Executive Director of the Amherst Business Improvement District. Organizing events, making things look nice, trying to fix things that are broken systemically. It's pretty great.

Finding silver linings, remembering faces and names, hugs, connecting with people, decluttering my life, Excel, Facebook, contradancing, keeping a tune.

Realistically? The beard. The second batch of things? Probably my extroversion and smiles. When I'm contradancing they compliment my skirt.

Books: used to read tons of Fantasy & SciFi, don't read enough books these days. Ender's Game? George RR Martin? Dark is Rising? One of those.

Movies: Children of Men, Election, Forrest Gump, Inside Man, Lost in Translation, Muppet Christmas Carol, I Heart Huckabees.

Shows: Firefly, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Lost

Music: For a long time, the biggest thing was celtic fusion music, with some folk around the edges. Now it's a smattering of indie rock and electronic/dance/pop, along with the celtic fusion and contradance stuff.

Food: Simple stuff. Soup. Carbs (doesn't get better than fresh bread). Local food. Vegetarian food. Homemade food. Sugar fiend, salt fiend.

I would say this is a dumb question, except OkCupid is generally pretty clever. Let's see. Consistent meals. Music. Adequate social stimulus. Springtime. Animals. Sex.

...putting "Animals" and "Sex" next to each other (it's just the order in which they came to me!) is amusing. In case it needs clarification, not into that.

Work (trying to get better at compartmentalizing!), progressive politics, what other people are thinking, women, building community.

Dancing or hanging out with friends, or looking to.

My brother has autism and Down Syndrome. I'm proud of that, but generally private about it.
