My self-summary
Been living in Astoria for the past few years, returning home to NY after the obligatory stint-in-LA experiment. When the old-school Greeks of the area learned my last name consisted of 12 letters and five syllables, the locals were quick to accept me and my transition to Astoria was complete (at least for souvlaki purposes, anyway).

I like to travel (targeting a wine region in either Spain or France this year), playing pick-up basketball on the mean streets of Queens, putting things in parentheses (still paying attention?), and impromptu road trips regardless of destination. I also like to make time to try new restaurants and cocktail bars, which I deem "work-related research" (see below) so I can write off the tabs at tax time (Does the IRS check OKCupid? Okay, good.). I also tend to believe in treating people as you want to be treated. I think I learned that from my second grade teacher. Or it could have been the owner of the first restaurant I worked in…I'll get back to you on that.
What I’m doing with my life
I run a popular wine bar/restaurant in Union Square and spend my off hours scheming up ways to go about opening my own place.
I’m really good at
Pairing foods and wines, poker, pronouncing complex last names, naming skills beginning with the letter “p,” ping pong, buck hunter, skiing, scrabble, general knowledge trivia.

Conversely I am not very good at long division, tennis, or staying awake in the back seat of a car.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my rugged facial hair, which at any time can range from Bruce Willis-esque stubble to the Sylvester Stallone mountain beard from Rocky IV.
