My self-summary
I'm a Frenchie who's moved here a year ago after spending six years Montreal. I really love this city (it might have to do with the positively delightful absence of snow), and I'm looking to make friends (and possibly more) to enjoy it with.

Otherwise, I'm zen, easy going (though no complete pushover) and curious about everything... My philosophy is that in most cases, I prefer regretting having tried something than regretting not having tried it. Up to now, it's served me well...
What I’m doing with my life
I work as an artificial intelligence developer for a video games company, which shows that you can be paid to do amazingly cool things, and while being a bit of a geek is part of the job description, that doesn't mean I'm not social, quite the contrary. I go out, enjoy being active and love trying out new things and places. Fun lies in variety, not routine!

Outside my job, chances are I can be found doing some swing dancing, lazing in a park, suffering at bootcamp, practicing the piano, biking up at steep slope, doing some geeky stuff or whatever my current hobby is, the latest one being woodworking.
I’m really good at
- Picking up new hobbies.
- Remembering tiny details about other people while being terrible at recalling names.
- Procrastinating paperwork into oblivion (I'm actually quite amazing at that)
The first things people usually notice about me
My French accent, my smile and the fact that I apparently have a very expressive face.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Mostly fiction. A Game of Thrones, The Devil and Miss Prym, Daughter of Fortune, the Discworld books, Under Heaven, The Way of Kings, Pillars of the Earth, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Cryptonomicon, Snow Crash, Middlesex just to name a few...

Movies: Anything with a good story and / or great photography. Again, for a short selection: Three Times, Ghost World, American Beauty, Being John Malkovich, Frida, Me You and Everyone Else, Koyaanisqatsi, Solaris, Blade Runner and most films from Kubric, Miyazaki, Almodovar, Michel Gondry or Wong Kar Wai... I still also enjoy the latest Hollywood blockbuster too!

TV: House, Battlestar Galactica, The West Wing, Sherlock, The Wire, Buffy, Breaking Bad... Ever since I moved here, I haven't had much time to follow all the cool new series.

Music: An wide selection ranging from classical to hard rock. My Pandora selection includes Ella Fitzgerald, Adele, Nine Inch Nails, Dragonforce, Basia Bulat and Chopin. Eclectic might be the term I'm looking for :)

Food: I'm a foodie, so it's hard not to say "everything"... I'm also a pretty good cook, or so I'm told. My latests experiments involved dabbling with the so called molecular cuisine and sous-vide cooking. I'll get fancy when friends are over.
The six things I could never do without
The most obvious ones (family, friends, love, oxygen, etc...) don't tell you much so I'll drop down a rung or two on the ladder and say (in no particular order):
- Travelling to different countries
- My camera
- Biking / hiking
- Computer + internet (essential when your family is 6000 miles away)
- Some form of creative outlet
- Something to read
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What is the answer to life, the universe and everything; is it wise to read one more page even though it's 2am; where did the evil gnome hide my keys...
On a typical Friday night I am
The same thing we do every night, Pinky—try to take over the world! But besides that, hopefully something new, be it rock climbing, trampoline dodgeball or cooking lessons. And if it's not the case, then I'm pretty happy with the usual diner/drinks/movie with friends or simply relaxing at home from a long week...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I tend to root for the bad guy in movies. After all, it's the villains who have the passion, energy and the drive to change the world (granted, not always in very nice ways) whereas superheros merely fight to preserve the status quo. And who can stand a Mr. Goody-Two-Shoes?

Obviously, this has nothing to do with my desire to take over the world. :)
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 28–37
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You're smart, interesting, affectionate, slightly quirky and possibly geeky with a chemistry and sense of adventure/discovery that clicks with mine. You're looking to share long discussions but are equally at ease with silences.

Bonus points if the names Martin Parr, Henri Cartier-Bresson or Doisneau mean anything to you!
