My self-summary
Well, hello there! Thanks for stopping by! I am an outgoing, grounded person who respects and values integrity, responsibility and honesty, but also remembers to relax and enjoy life and make time for things that matter; sort of "responsibly spontaneous," if you will. I make my best effort at being considerate of others and respect people who do the same. I love to laugh and joke--in fact, a lot of my humor has its roots in Seinfeld-style banter, and I definitely value a good sense of humor, but also know when it's time to be serious and appreciate the ability to be genuine, honest, but tactful (even if it's not easy--don't ask if you don't want an answer), and look at a situation rationally from all angles, and communicate well.

I love being outdoors and am finding that I have an increasingly difficult time being in an office all day. I like a good run, walk, or hike, and enjoy things like kayaking and standup paddle boarding, though I'm rather terrible at competitive team sports. I value a good command of the language and the ability to articulate. I adore animals and am a huge advocate of and passionate about animal welfare (I'm not a vegetarian, I'm just very upset by animal cruelty), and I ADORE music and live theater/musicals.

I play the piano, love harmony, and make my best attempts at singing and composing music. I love to perform, and for a while wanted to be an actress, but I got tired of the constant financial struggle and difficult lifestyle that career path can sometimes bring, so I (somewhat) regrettably gave it up and have been trying to find the right fit of a "real" job ever since. I am educated but haven't really been happy with my career path, so, I'm actively working to figure out my exact career path soon--I'm close!
What I’m doing with my life
Since I'm discovering I'm not at all satisfied with the educational and career path I chose, I am currently in the proces of trying to make a change. I am considering grad school, and am toying with the idea of making a move, since I don't have anything really tying me down here at the moment. But, if I should find something worth staying here for, then I will. So, what I am doing is working toward career and life fulfillment, while doing the best I can to contribute positively to causes I care about and those around me.
I’m really good at
Expressing myself/communicating diplomatically
Playing the piano/music theory/composition
Being considerate of others
Playing with animals
Being silly
Quoting Seinfeld/Boy Meets World/Lucy
The first things people usually notice about me
My genuine, personable demeanor and sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
TV: Seinfeld, Arrested Development, I Love Lucy, Boy Meets World (As you can see, I don't watch too much TV these days), How I Met Your Mother, The Office, Modern Family, Scandal

Music: I love country music! I really enjoy other types too though; generally I'll enjoy a lot of the top 40, I enjoy soft rock type things, and love a capella harmony arrangements. I pretty like most things with a strong melody/instrumentation, but I definitely also enjoy fun songs.
The six things I could never do without
Fresh Air
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm usually so exhausted from work on Fridays that I'm excited to just be able to relax for once!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
This is all that comes to mind at the moment (probably because I'm doing it as I write this): Sometimes I'll sit in my room before I go to bed listening to large-scale orchestral scores of powerful epic-movie style themes, or other powerful songs of that nature, and get really into it, and pretend I'm the conductor, waving my arms around "conducting" the orchestra, queuing in the various instruments and choral singers. Somehow I find this to be extremely enjoyable.
You should message me if
You think we'd be a good match and are willing to meet rather that just email back and forth and/or text all day long. If there's a mutual interest beyond the initial message or two, I like to actually speak on the phone to determine if we click rather than play pen pals forever--and then subsequently meet if the phone conversation goes well, because you really don't know until you meet. Texting has its place, but not for the initial "get-to-know-you" chat; too impersonal. This way, if we're a match, we know sooner rather than later, and if not, we know that too and don't waste our time.
