My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello,

I'm a software engineer living in the metro Atlanta area.
I'm fairly nerdy, and looking for a nerdy girl. Hence going through a website, as we're not a particularly social demographic.

Most nights, I spend my free time working on games and software with my friends. I taught myself programming to pursue my dream of being a game designer. Saturdays, and sometimes Fridays, we party like it's the end of the world.

Unwinding usually consists of hanging out with friends online or in someone's living room. I'm witty, and tend to be able to make my friends laugh, though I will be the one to tell both objectively bad jokes, and jokes in bad taste.

When I think of the word 'nerdy', I'm imagining open-mindedness, a thirst for knowledge, and a disdain for nonchalantly accepting "I don't know" as a response to one's own curiosity. We have the entirety of human knowledge at our fingertips, and if you're not inclined to use it to indulge in any curiosities about the world you might have, you're probably not my type.

I'm constantly seeking interesting conversation. An example of what I might consider that to be is Richard Feinman's series on "Fun to Imagine": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3pYRn5j7oI&list=PL322C334F17FABB17
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
When I'm not working or hanging out with my friends, I spend my time harnessing my creativity to bring my ideas to life.

I've taken up learning Spanish, and try to be constantly improving in one way or another.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh;
Fixing computers;
Making new friends.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Are probably all physical, 'cause, you know, eyes. Though they hardly say anything except about my wit or obnoxiousness (depending on their sense of humor).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books:
The Idiot; Wheel of Time; American Gods; Dune; Revalation Space; pretty much anything by Malcolm Gladwell, Neal Stephenson, Orson Scott Card, and Sci Fi in general.

Movies:
I'm a fan of quite a lot of movies. I tend to generally like Sci-Fi again, as well as comedies and anime. Some particularly enjoyable titles would be:
Falling Down; Princess Mononoke; Mystery Team; Boondock Saints; Southland Tales; Akira...

Shows:
Currently on air, I'm enjoying Community; Parks and Rec; Modern Family; Doctor Who; Mad Men; Archer; Venture Brothers...

Music:
I like a lot of genres of music, in moderation. It really depends on the occasion, but I tend to spend more time either in silence or listening to audiobooks than music.
That said, I have been regularly listening to:
Daft Punk; Watsky; Macklemore; Childish Gambino; Adele; Death Cab for Cutie; Something Corporate; Metallica; and sometimes Fun.

Food:
I enjoy all the food. I have no memory of a type of food that I dislike, only poorly prepared food.

Video Games:
I'm disappointed that OKC doesn't suggest this :/ It's looked down upon, but finding someone who doesn't look down upon it is pretty much why I'm using the site.
XCOM; Shadow of the Colossus; The Elder Scrolls; Saints Row; Psychonauts; Hitman...

There's a lot more to the above that isn't really coming to mind. Feel free to ask.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A computer with an internet connection, a friend to talk to, and stints of privacy.
The other three would basically be human needs then, I guess: Food, water, air.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I overthink everything.
I have been told this.
I know this.
I own this.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
50/50 out with friends / at home getting things done.
Friday ain't the night life night though, c'mon.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once burnt ramen noodles.
What I was doing was a lot more interesting than the meal I was set to have...

Screw it, just do it.
I signed up to find a romantic partner, but I'd be happy to make some friends on the way.

Maybe you could suggest a different way to phrase "romantic partner" that doesn't make me sound like a bad magazine.
