My self-summary
I believe life is to be lived. I'm a super responsible, career-oriented father of two wonderful girls - and happily married by the way to a wonderful, open minded woman who has agreed to open our marriage and given me permission to play. I have my own consulting business which I've run for about 14 years now. I'm also a very nice but self-assertive guy with a bit of a dry sense of humor.

I like to think I've led/am leading an interesting life, at least as interesting as a professional, married, suburban father of two can lead. Took the family to Africa last year for 2 weeks to visit Cape Town, do a safari, and visit Victoria Falls. Have traveled to 35+ countries, jumped out of a perfectly good plane, worked for NASA and on Capitol Hill, hacked my way out of the Amazon (with a machete, not a PC), visited the Parthanon, Forbidden City, and Machu Picchu (to name a few) and had a number of other interesting life experiences. Message me and I'm sure I can think of more.
What I’m doing with my life
Didn't I kinda answer that just now? Okay, here's some more - what do I do for fun? I consider that I currently have a "big four" when it comes to hobbies. #2 is fencing, which I do several times a week and am absolutely having a blast at (I've been doing it for about 8 months now), #3 is strategy board gaming in which the group I game with gets together weekly (I probably go every other week), and #4 is juggling; I'm currently teaching an academy at my daughter's middle school.

#1 is probably NSFW; message me and I'll be happy to discuss. ;-)
I’m really good at
Surprisingly for a guy I'm really good at listening. Yeah I know, I think I sorta broke the mold. And asking questions. Career coaching is up there.

I can make a mean omelette. And grilled cheese sandwich. Change a light bulb. Or the oil in my car. And I'm really good at reaching things on high shelves.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile. My sense of optimism. The giant spiders crawling all over my roof (the problem usually seems worst around Halloween).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books. Loved all the classic sci fi authors as a kid. Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein. Sort of wish they were still writing 50s and 60s sci fi today. I read a lot of non fiction now and constantly proselytize Sex at Dawn. Great read. Hey, you should read it.

Movies. Pulp Fiction. Most of the Tarantino canon. Blade Runner. The Player. The Coen Brothers. Greenaway. Almodovar. No Country for Old Men. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Monte Python. You get the idea.

TV. The Wire. Breaking Bad. Dexter but only through the John Lithgow season. Twin Peaks (season 1 episode 3 remains one of the high water marks in television). Modern Family. Monte Python -- oops, mentioned that already. Of course, Game of Thrones, and yes, I read all the books back when and am one of the people who kept the secret about Ned Stark, the Red Wedding, and now even Joffrey. If you want to know the secrets I'm keeping about books 4 and 5, you will have to bribe me (it's easier than reading the books).

Music. Indy contemporary rock. Lot of the Sirius XMU playlist. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Regina Spektor. The National. Smith Westerns. Deerhunter. Cults. Wish Doves were still putting out music. Also enjoy the modern rock classics. Bowie, Queen (and Queen and Bowie -- name the song). The Cars. And of course the rock classics. The Stones. Led Zeppelin. Guns and Roses. Captain and Tennille (just making sure you are still paying attention).
The six things I could never do without
Air. At least for a while.
My family.
Laughter and a sense of humor.
Intellectual stimulation.
Physical stimulation.
My iPhone.
Accurate enumeration.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Well, I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it because I just discovered it , but I checked out my "Personality" tab and it says I'm more arrogant than other OKC members - and right next to that, more compassionate as well.

Aren't those sort of diametrically opposite? Both are actually probably true, although I hate the term "arrogant." I'd prefer "confident." Oh yeah, that's there too, at the top of the list...
On a typical Friday night I am
Right now, usually hanging out with my wife and daughters, watching a little TV or playing a board game. A few months ago, my Friday night fencing lessons (which are now Monday and Thursday). Every now and again when I get a hall pass, having a lovely time with a lady friend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
There's very little I'm not willing to admit. But then that makes for fun stories when we get together. Be sure to ask me the one about when I was a Domino's Pizza delivery boy in high school.
