I am smart, am always laughing, and love being outside.

My Self-Summary

I'm generally positive and outgoing. I love to laugh and try not to take things too seriously. I love Boston and since moving there 5 years ago, I have become a total Red Sox nut. Books are my passion, but I love being active too and can be found playing any and all sports: soccer, basketball, frisbee, beer pong, you name it. At the ocean is my all-time favorite place to be, although being pretty much anywhere outside on a gorgeous day makes me happy.

Will be in France teaching English for 8 months--so excited!

What I’m doing with my life

Well, I used to spend my days editing children's books, which was pretty awesome. Now I'm off on a new adventure to teach English and revel in life en France! Still not entirely sure what I'm doing with my LIFE though.

I’m really good at

Um, not this, which is actually surprising since I spent a lot of my time at work writing and re-writing and making things sound REALLY good. I'll give it a shot though. I'm really good at finding humor in most things, pretty good at soccer and basketball, an expert reader (seeing as it was my job and all), and I make a mean grilled cheese sandwich AND a pretty damn good banana-nutella crepe.

The first things people usually notice about me

My smile, my loud laugh, and my excessive (and hopefully endearing) use of hyperbole. :)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books (just a few because I could go on forever): The Book Thief, The History of Love, Everything is Illuminated, The Poisonwood Bible, The Sex Lives of Cannibals, The Phantom Tollbooth, The BFG, Good Omens, The Devil in the White City, Interpreter of Maladies, Of Human Bondage, Three Cups of Tea, Mountains Beyond Mountains, The Road, Nine Hills to Nambonkaha, and I should probably stop there...

Movies: Love Actually, The Sound of Music, Moulin Rouge, Amelie, Slumdog Millionaire, Children of Men, Life Is Beautiful, Seven, Good Will Hunting, Shrek, Juno, Wall-E, Finding Nemo

Music: The Killers, Dispatch, Weezer, Guster, Tracy Chapman, BNL, Counting Crows, Death Cab for Cutie, MJ, Ben Folds Five, anything I can dance to!

Food: sushi, pad thai, a really well roasted s'more cooked in a campfire, ice cream on a hot day (or really any old time), brie and french bread, banana-nutella crepes, aforementioned perfectly-made grilled cheese sandwich, and lots more--I'm not a picky eater.

The six things I could never do without

1. sense of humor
2. friends
3. family
4. books
5. my health (and not in an annoying literal way--I would honestly go crazy if I weren't able to be active)
6. a nice, cushy pillow

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Curious George (granted, I used to edit/write/design books about the little rascal, and I haven't quite worked him out of my brain yet)

On a typical Friday night I am

Either crashing at home, hanging out with friends, or doing my best to rally out on the town.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Well, I just admitted that I spend a huge chunk of time thinking about a monkey...who spends a lot of time with a man with a yellow hat without a name (well, he has a name in the movies and the TV show--don't get me started); I think that qualifies as mildly embarrassing/private.

You should message me if

You can make me laugh!
