My self-summary
Love is our finest instinct... a transcendently sensible urge, designed by nature to keep people we know we can depend on close. Divorced for more than ten years with no children, I’m looking for shared values and intimacy with a woman whose qualities reflect my own. A partner in crime to share special times and common purpose, sensuality, warmth and humor. A woman who loves simple pleasures, likes me out of all proportion, and finds it fun and easy to be together.

I appreciate classic feminine style and feline sophistication, and love the company of a younger woman who’s stylish, a little cosmopolitan and still looking forward in life. You're confident, educated and down to earth... creative and cool with a playful spirit and liberal values. You probably find conservative politics disqualifying and uninteresting in someone you respect, and world culture, art and music compelling, exciting and important.

I'm a professional in arts and culture with accessible taste and a preference for simple things… drive a ragtop, enjoy day trips and use my turn signal even when no one's looking. And I can enjoy a good red ale or craft beer, but prefer wine, and like my humor dry. Have a naturally slender build and a natural attraction for the same, and I also love nature, but am not into roughing it and prefer a warm bed and a shower in the morning and the company of a woman who's consciously feminine and likes to spoon.

I want what everyone wants in a best friend... wicked wit and playful spirit... loyalty, curiosity and intellect. And what everyone wants in a love partner... affection and excitement, frivolity, love and enchantment. Friendship thrives on generosity and cultivation, but physical attraction and chemistry is the divine spark for a connection that's special and unique.
What I’m doing with my life
art conservator (furniture/wooden artifacts) in a public institution.
I’m really good at
... my craft... and appreciating beauty in everyday life.
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, obviously how handsome, witty and charming I am.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My taste...
I tend to read nonfiction and have an art history background, but easy and accessible taste, and enjoy the Sunday NYT... The Atlantic... and Salon. Some favorites books are... John Berger "Ways of Seeing"; John Dewey "Art as Experience"; and always the writings of William James.

I grew up around DC, which is a soul town, and love Classic Soul and Old School R&B, '60's-70's Country/Folk-Rock, and Romantic Symphony and Italian Opera... Verdi and Puccini!

Nice food is nice, and wine is wonderful too, though I don't drink much or like really hot food, and prefer to eat something lean and healthy. Can’t call myself a foodie though, since I can simply forget to eat if I'm really focused elsewhere.
The six things I could never do without
Music and Arts
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- Meeting someone and getting off this site...
- And if anyone reads this..!
On a typical Friday night I am
Relaxing at home with a glass of wine.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
- I'm actually more partial to the adagio movement than the allegro...
- And have no interest in Republicans or conservatives.
