Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Love is our finest instinct... an exquisitely sensible urge,
designed by nature to keep special people we know we can depend on
close. I've been in no hurry, but would benefit a great deal by
getting off OKCupid with a lovely girlfriend. Divorced for more
than ten years with no children, I’m looking for shared values and
intimacy in a woman whose qualities reflect my own. A partner in
crime to share special times, common goals... sensuality, warmth
and humor. A woman who loves simple pleasures, likes me out of all
proportion, and finds it fun and easy to be together.
I'm a successful professional in arts and culture, well regarded in
my field, but not in the white collar, suit and tie mold. More
suede and camel hair... tweeds and turtlenecks. I have a naturally
slender build and find myself attracted to the same. Culturally
aware but prefer simple things… drive a ragtop, enjoy day trips and
use my turn signal even when no one's looking. And I can enjoy a
good red ale or craft beer, but prefer wine, and like my humor dry.
I also love nature, but am not into roughing it and prefer a warm
bed and a shower in the morning and the company of a woman who's
consciously feminine and likes to spoon.
An appreciator of classic feminine style... culottes and Capri
pants... silk scarves, and feline sophistication, I thrill to the
company of a younger woman who’s stylish, a little urbane and still
looking forward in life. You're interested and able to be a true
and deep partner, and you're hip, confident, educated and down to
earth... creative and cool with a playful spirit and liberal
values. You find conservative political values uninteresting and
unacceptable, and world culture, art and music compelling, exciting
I just want what everyone wants in a friend... a wicked wit and
playful spirit... loyalty, curiosity and intellect. And what
everyone wants in a girlfriend... affection and excitement,
frivolity, love and enchantment. Friendships thrive on generosity
and cultivation, but physical attraction and chemistry is the
necessary recipe... the divine spark for a connection that's
exclusive and unique.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an art conservator in a public institution.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
... my craft... and appreciating beauty everyday.

Well, obviously how handsome, witty and charming I am.

Hmmm.. My taste.
I tend to read nonfiction and have a strong liberal bias.
Some favorite titles include 'The Shock Doctrine; 'Education of the
Senses; 'Music the Brain and Ecstasy', and William James -
'Varieties of Religious Experience' (1909) and John Dewey - 'Art as
Experience' (1932). I have an art history background, but easy and
accessible taste, and enjoy the Sunday NYT... The Atlantic... and
online I like Salon.
I grew up around DC which is a soul town, and really love Classic
Soul and Old School R&B, and jazz that's warm and laid back...
Marvin Gaye... the Isley Brothers, Ella Fitzgerald; Sade; and
almost any sultry female jazz vocalist... And Symphony... I love a
symphony! Especially Russian or Slavic romantic symphony... and
German of course... Beethoven's Pastoral #6. And Italian Opera...
(German and French too) and Russian Ballet... rich and romantic...
passion... love, sex and death... Beethoven, Tchaikovsky,
Rachmaninov, Verdi and ... Puccini of course!
Nice food is always nice, and wine is wonderful, though I don't
drink much and prefer to eat something lean and healthy. I always
appreciate the exquisite and aesthetic, but can’t call myself a
foodie because I have an austere streak... and can be picky, which
makes for a narrow pallet (Exotic meats disgust me). Basically, I
enjoy being slender, which keeps my caloric intake on the low side,
and I can simply forget to eat if I'm really focused elsewhere...
the austere streak.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music and Arts
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
