My self-summary
I'm a very down to earth person with a strong streak of whimsy; an excellent companion, with wit and good humor, and very adaptable to nearly any situation. I am artistic, liberal, at times a little hedonistic. I have a strong libido that I'm not ashamed of, but that doesn't mean I'll sleep with anyone. I need a strong mental connection along with the physical. The brain is the largest sex organ, after all.

I'm unabashedly enthusiastic about the things I like. Or, in other words, I totally geek out over stuff, lol. I will dance when I feel like dancing, even if nobody else is. I just like to move my body. If people stare, I just laugh. Life's too short to waste time feeling embarrassed at being caught enjoying something or acting silly.

I can get very animated when I talk, and I talk with my hands quite a bit.

I read for pleasure rather a lot (probably too much of it sci-fi/fantasy), and like to have a book or sketch pad and pencil nearby.

I sincerely wish I saw more live theater. There's a kinetic passion in live performance and a tacit audience participation between the artist or actors that is lacking in prerecorded media. Watching a movie is fun, but it's a tame, one-way experience compared to theater.

I'm slender and I exercise, but I'm still plenty curvy. I've had two kids though. I have a flat stomach and reasonably toned abs, but my skin will never be completely smooth again, and I'm completely okay with it. Life is meant to leave marks on our bodies. If you're not okay with that, there are plenty of other girls for you. :)

I love cooking and trying new foods. Indian, thai, cajun/creole, really fresh seafood... It doesn't have to be fancy, but it needs flavor.

I love to have an adventure wherever I end up. Being lost in a strange city is a puzzle to solve and an opportunity for new experiences. Even if it's just right in the city I live in. I once found myself at the top of the bell tower in the Old City Hall building at 2am after sneaking in the unlocked door. The view of Tacoma from between the beautiful italianate arches as the full moon shone down is a sight I'll never forget as long as I live.

At the end of the day, though, it's so nice to come home, strip down to something comfortable, and relax.
What I’m doing with my life
Started a new job, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm parenting my kids through a divorce. I don't feel like I really have my shit together at times, but I'm getting there. It's a process.

I'm writing and drawing and creating art. I'm reading the Dune series for the first time and really enjoying it.

Lately, I'm seeing an amazing man, and having a great time with it.

The only thing he can't do is be a woman. ^_^
I’m really good at
Writing and drawing with both hands. But not at the same time. Still working on that one.

Making things, fixing things, cooking, grammar, spelling (need me to proof read that thing for you? lol), lucid dreaming, pulling faces at myself in the mirror.

I give great massages. I love to kiss and I've been told I'm really good at it. I'm kind of a blow job queen. I'm really good at making people laugh, and making them feel appreciated. It gives me the warm and fuzzies.

I'm really good at finding buried treasure in thrift shops, too.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm really friendly, and I smile a lot. And I have dimples.

I have very long, straight, auburn hair. Mostly because I'm long over due for a trim, but I often let it go because I don't get split ends.

If people get close enough, they might notice I also have green eyes and small freckles across my checks.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Wheel of Time series, everything by Neil Gaiman, Poe, Shakespeare's sonnets, Brian Jacques, Susan Cooper, Phillip Pullman, Terry Pratchett

TV: True Blood, Bones, Buffy, Angel, Firefly (pretty much anything Joss Whedon, lol), all the various Star Treks, SG1, Eureka, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, and last but not at all least, I'm a huge Doctor Who fan.

I don't have cable, so I don't actually watch much tv these days.

Music: I grew up listening to all the awesome classic rock and never lost my love of it, cheesy 80's pop, 90's alternative stuff, Amanda Fucking Palmer, Abney Park, Tim Minchin, Alexander James Adams, Tricky Pixie, They Might Be Giants, Jonathan Coulton, Weird Al
The six things I could never do without

I spend a lot of time thinking about
The secret doings in the minds of others, how each person's perception of experiences are colored by every experience that came before that, and how you can never truly know someone because of it. It sounds lonely, but I promise it's not.

I think about interconnectedness. There's a beautiful quote by Neil DeGrasse Tyson about how we are all made of the same stuff as the stars, that we are made of matter that existed before us and will continue to exist long after. It's a wonderment.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home. I know, so boring! Yet here I am. Not that I wouldn't like to go out...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have occasional depression. It's a chemical imbalance that I can't control. Since I am one of the uninsured masses, I can't afford all of the appointments necessary to find a medication/dosage that works for me at this time.

I'm also one of the most relentlessly optimistic people I know. Depression, for me, doesn't make me negative or morose.

Being a very self aware person, know when my brain chemistry's going a little haywire and I have coping methods to see me through. I exercise, I get things done, I make sure to eat right. I try to give myself the best possible chance of fighting back against it.

Even still, some days the dragon wins. And the next day, I get back up and keep fighting. I do not go quietly into that good night.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 28–40
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
I wanted someone to go out with me and do fun things with, share interests, text naughty things to, laugh and have inside jokes with, fuck with abandon, think about when they're not around. And now I have that.

Not really looking for more than friends at this time. :)
