Hey! I'm interesting! I swear!

Right, now that the compelling intro is done, hi! I'm an eternal student finally making plans to enter the real world. Taking classes, working part time, that whole shtick. Right now I'm looking to expand my horizons and get out a bit beyond work and school.

I'm cool with most any activity, though I really love hiking. I missed the season last year for work. Not again! Utah's really terrific for hiking, I was amazed to find just how much is within a half-hour's drive. My goal this year is to climb to the tip of Mt. Timpanogos... hoo boy. Time to get practicing in the canyons!

The biggest part of anything, absolutely anything, is the people you do it with. I don't even like coffee, but hours in a coffee shop with a friend are magical. Movies, hiking, sitting home, plotting world domination, all of it comes down to the people.

Currently guilty of education in the second degree. I got a BA in English (yes, I am WELL aware of the song...) at the University of Oklahoma, tried a year of graduate school, and now am pursuing a computer science degree at the University of Utah.

After that, well, I hope to use it. Maybe I'm growing old and boring, but I find myself turning increasingly toward practical considerations. I guess this is what they call adulthood.

Doesn't mean I don't like to have fun, though!

I'm also, as of recently, working part-time. Busy-busy!

Stuff and things! I've got my skills. I can push papers, work with computers, deconstruct annoying television ads, and so on. Always room for improvement, though. "Really good"... maybe someday! For now, I'm learning.

Choosing a chunk of a favorite song (Bob Seger!) for a user name and ending up with a pretentious-sounding mess.

This is a sneaky question. People don't go around telling others what their most noticeable feature are. I expect answers are more a reflection on one's own self-perceptions.

Too many books to list! I'd love to talk about them, though.

Movies/TV: I generally prefer comedies and sci-fi, with a smattering of dramas. Recently-watched favorites include The Avengers, The King's Speech, MLP: FiM, 30 Rock, and Parks and Recreation. And I may have developed a slight Whose Line Is It Anyway? addiction.

Music: Bruce Springsteen is my all-time favorite artist, across both his rock and folk work. The 80s are a favorite decade. Otherwise, it varies. Some rock, some country, some classical, so on and so forth. I don't like to chop things out by genre--that's too big an axe.

Food: Yes, please.
