My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Music-obsessed, beer-enthralled nerd consumed by biking, reading, smart-assery, and the outdoors in general.

Oregon born and raised, no intention of leaving the PNW. I was fortunate enough to be born in the place I actually feel I belong.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working as a Software Engineer in Salem. Looking for new employment and housing in the Portland area, given the ever-growing feeling that my current place won't challenge me enough.

Home brewing with my cousin while we plan a business venture.

Biking around parts of the mid valley, wishing for a go pro camera. A friend also introduced me to bouldering and rock climbing recently, and I'm thinking it may become (another) expensive hobby.

Trekking up to Portland for weekends with friends or by myself, usually brewery hopping or the like.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Channeling my inner Calvin.
Calvinball.
Typing "form" instead of "from." Every. Damn. Day.
Brewing beer (seriously said with no ego; my brews are fantastic, and I too was in kindergarten once so I know how to share).
Cooking. I love making up and/or trying new recipes. And just like the beer, it's fantastic and maybe I'll share.
Biking. It'a great outlet and mind clearing activity, so it'd take the snowpocalypse or something worse to stop me.
Not writing in full paragraphs.
Binge-watching a show once it takes hold of me.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Physically, I'm fairly tall. And my calves are awesome, apparently (it's how a friend recently picked me out of a crowd).

Or that I have graying hair, and have since I was 15.

Otherwise, I'm always looking for an excuse to laugh or smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Music is something I enjoy very much, I'm rarely without it playing. Some of my favorite bands/artists: Nine Inch Nails (by far my all time favorite), Tool, The Heavy, Watsky, Deadmau5, Black Keys, Gojira, DJ Shadow, The Naked and Famous, Glitch Mob, In Flames, Jimi Hendrix, The Prodigy, Wolfmother, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Bonobo, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Anything Calvin and Hobbes. I grew up reading those comics, and they're even more meaningful now. I binge read the entirety of QC comics in under a week.

I enjoy reading Fantasy mostly. I love the escapism and the imagination of the authors. Occasionally I'll read science or beer related books, or other fiction like Choke/Fight Club/1984, etc.

Some of my favorite books/series: Stormlight Archive, Lord of the Rings, Legacy of the Aldenta (Posleen War), Dune (first and second books anyway), 1984, The Blinding Knife, Mistborn Trilogy, and the Powder Mage series.

TV shows:
Archer, The Newsroom, House of Cards, South Park, The Daily Show, Walking Dead, Firefly, Game of Thrones, to name a few. Mostly what's on Netflix.

Fight Club, No Country for Old Men, The Big Lebowski, Pulp Fiction, Super Troopers, Kill Bill, The Goonies (which should be mandatory watching to live in Oregon), just to name a few.

Food: I will try damn near anything once. I guess my burgers (all the varieties I make), NY style pizza, and ice cream (hello Salt&Straw/Ruby Jewel) top my favorites.

Beer: IPA is by far my favorite beer (with sours and all their intricacies coming in a close second). So far, and I may be SLIGHTLY biased, I haven't found a brewery I like more than Block 15 in the state of Oregon. I challenge you to find me that.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music, books, beer, home-cooked food, my bike, comedy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Future business ventures.
Different meals to make, or beers to brew.
Job applications.
The song I am currently listening to. Or just listened to. Or both.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Doing whatever strikes my fancy.

In all seriousness, it'll all sound kind of droll: Netflix, drinking with friends, wandering Portland/Corvallis, at one of my favorite bars, playing darts with my cousin at Lucky Lab, or reading a book. Nothing no one else has ever done in the history of ever, oh no.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I still hold my breath going through tunnels.

I will likely use your music list to see if I like any of them, Because I listen to music more hours in the day than I should probably admit to.

You like to have a great time.

You want a pizza roll (I hope someone gets this reference). Seriously, if you want a pizza roll, leave a comment on this webzone.

You want to go for a bike ride or go hike any of Oregon's awesome parks. There's so many I still haven't been to, despite being an Oregon native. The whole job thing kills longer trips sometimes.

You need a concert buddy. I love live music. Even genres I might not like normally.

You think these essays are too long and you got bored, skipping to the end. We all do it, it's okay. I don't blame you, much.
