My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Music, beer, and biking obsessed nerd; lover of reading, smart-assery, and the outdoors in general.

By the way, you just lost the game. You're welcome.

Every day is a concert in my car. I'll drum on the steering wheel until my fingers hurt, sing until my voice is raw, and love every second of it. I'm sure I look awesome as shit to the cars driving by.

Professional insomniac. Think Tyler Dryden but nowhere near as cool. Or crazy. Or even soap-making...y.

Oregon born and raised, no intention of leaving the PNW. I am fortunate enough to be born in the place I actually belong; it will always be my home.

I still hold my breath going through tunnels. If I ever hit one that's longer than I can hold my breath, I'm not sure what I would do. So you may want to avoid really long tunnels. Or bet on me being able to hold my breath a really long time. It's your life, after all.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Absolutely loving it. (Cliché but goddamned true)

Just got an awesome new developer job (seriously, I love my job, pretty much the first time I've been able to say that in years) in the Portland area, so my days are consumed by that. Enjoying the nightlife on a more regular basis.

Weekends it just depends, a hike in Forest park, usually a brewery with my cousin and friends.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Channeling my inner Calvin.
Typing "form" instead of "from." Every. Damn. Day.
Everything I put my mind to.. Almost. Really bad at ballet, it turns out. And knitting.

Note: I have never tried ballet. Or knitting.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Physically, I'm fairly tall. And my calves are awesome (it's how a friend recently picked me out of a crowd, so we're all going to agree with them).

Or that I have graying hair, and have since I was 15.

Otherwise, I'm always looking for an excuse to laugh or smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Holy shit this part is huge (phrasing). One day I'll fix that. For now, you suffer (or skip) through it.

Music is something I enjoy very much, I'm rarely without it playing. Some of my favorite bands/artists: Nine Inch Nails (by far my all time favorite), Tool, The Heavy, Watsky, Deadmau5, Black Keys, Gojira, DJ Shadow, The Naked and Famous, Glitch Mob, In Flames, Jimi Hendrix, The Prodigy, Wolfmother, Mastodon, Bonobo, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Dropkick Murphy's, Citizen Cope.

For you out there: rayyeter

Some of my favorite books/series: Stormlight Archive, Lord of the Rings, Legacy of the Aldenta (Posleen War), Dune (first and second books anyway), 1984, The Blinding Knife, Mistborn Trilogy, and the Powder Mage series.

TV shows:
Archer, The Newsroom, House of Cards, South Park, The Daily Show, Walking Dead, Firefly, Game of Thrones, random shitty shows on Netflix. Though lately, it's been nothing at all.

Fight Club, No Country for Old Men, The Big Lebowski, Pulp Fiction, Super Troopers, Kill Bill, The Goonies, just to name a few.

Food: I will try damn near anything once. Anything delicious.

Beer: IPA is by far my favorite beer (with sours and all their intricacies coming in a close second). Cascade barrel house, Breakside, and Commons are becoming my favorites in Portland.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music, books, beer, my bike(s)(may as all be plural as I intend to get more), my friends, corrective lenses.

Prove to me that's even remotely original, and I'll eat my own shoe.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Work related things.
Missing my bike, there's no room for it where I'm staying.
When the hell I'll get to brew again, see above.

The song I am currently listening to. Or just listened to. Or listened to three weeks ago. Or all of the above at once.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Something no one else has ever done in the history of everything ever:
Darts at Lucky Lab, playing games, drinking with friends, exploring the town, Netflix binging, whatever else I feel like doing.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
A beer, pub food, and taking about anything and everything that comes to mind sounds like a good time.

You want to go for a bike ride or go hike any of Oregon's awesome parks. Or any other mini (or not so mini) adventure!

You want to hit up some concerts.

You think these essays are too long and you got bored, skipping to the end. We all do it, it's okay. I don't blame you, much.
