I'm calm and easy going but also intense when I need to be. I thrive on intellectual discourse and can enjoy a great philosophical discussion over coffee as much as a night drinking and dancing at the club. In my spare time I like to hangout, read, write, lift weights, and practice my piano playing.
I'm hoping to meet someone who's open-minded, smart, ambitious and doesn't mind listening to the occasional Star Wars joke or voice impression :).
Interacting with people of different cultures
Figuring out computers - I like to build them
Some people tell me I'm good at the piano, but as my own worst critic I'll say I'm not that great
Books - Reading Lolita in Tehran, Third Culture Kids, The Pianist, The Female Brain, Dan Brown (all his books), Isaac Asimov (my favorite Sci-fi author - I've liked almost all his books that I've read), Frank Herbert (all the Dune books), Arthur C. Clarke (2001 Space Odyssey and the rest of the series), J.K Rowling (yes I was a potter fan in my youth)
Movies - Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Star Wars (all of them, but more so the original trilogy), The Last King of Scotland, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Pianist, A Beautiful Mind, The Matrix
Shows - Star Trek TNG, Star Trek Voyager, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Battlestar Galactica (the reboot), Stargate, 30 Rock, True Blood, Girls, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, Being Human, Breaking Bad
Music - I can listen to a variety of music, but my favorites at this moment are all classical/romantic; Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Chopin, Alkan, Ravel, Liszt are probably my top 6 composers right now.
Food - not a foodie, but I like me some jolof rice
