I am a massive geek, easily bored, and damned lucky.

My Self-Summary

I hate this box. I've cleared it out and started again a good number of times now. I guess that says something about me, right? I defy summary. I'm technically quite clever, while also being a massive moron quite often as well. I like it when my life is so busy I don't have a moment to think, but without the right motivation I'll sit on my backside every night for weeks on end. I love to fly, and one day I'm going to save up enough to get a pilot's license. Not sure yet if that's going to be planes or hot air balloons, they're both awesome. I like my gadgets and I like my books.

And I'm going to stop writing this bit, because I'm sure in a little while I'll decide I hate it and delete it again.

What I’m doing with my life

I work for a local IT support company, and the money is going towards clearing debts I racked up being a spaz. Once they're gone, I'm going to start doing some serious living.

I’m really good at

Computer stuff. Making friends with other people's pets. Knowing ridiculously obscure facts about all manner of subjects. I'm also quite good at deductive reasoning. And creative insults.

The first things people usually notice about me

To be honest, you'd have to ask other people. I don't remember what I first noticed about myself, as it was quite a while ago now. If I had to guess, I'd say my sideburns.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Terry Pratchett's novels, H2G2, Bravo Two Zero, and loads of others.

Movies: Independence Day, Shaun of the Dead, Anchorman, 28 Days Later, Back to the Future, anything with a bit of spectacle.

Music: Indie rock would be my favourite genre, but I like everything from Frank Sinatra to the Prodigy. Right now I'm listening to a lot of the Wombats, Jet, and Green Day. If you really, really want to know I'll link you to my last.fm. I've been scrobbling for YEARS and it says far more about my musical tastes than I can say here.

Food: I do like italian food. And spicy food. And food food. Not baked beans, though.

And because I think this should be listed here, TV shows: My weekly must-views right now are House, Stargate Universe, Flashforward and True Blood. I'm also re-watching a lot of old Buffy. My all-time favourites are Spaced, Green Wing, Firefly, Life on Mars (but not Ashes to Ashes) and Doctor Who.

The six things I could never do without

My mobile phone, keys, and my wallet are the first three. I never leave the house without them, I feel naked when I don't have them within arm's length, and with them I am prepared for pretty much anything the world can throw at me.

If I had to pick another three, they'd be my crappy old car which I love, and my laptop (running Ubuntu, if that's any interest to you) because I'm so hyperconnected it worries me some times. Lastly, some damn good tunes, because there's always time to rock out.

On a typical Friday night I am

Chilling in front of the telly, or playing a video game, or surfing the net. Friday is for relaxing after a week at work. And preparing for saturday, which is when big nights out happen.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'd quite like to be adopted by Stephen Fry.
