My self-summary
I'm a 28 year old man who lives in Altoona. I'm proud to call this city my home and am involved in a revitalization effort for the downtown. I've also been a musician since the late 80s (yes, that means I've been writing my own songs since I was a kid), and am now beginning to finally sell my music. If you're interested, I'll give you a copy of my CD for free and even personalize it for you!

If you're wondering what kind of music I do, it's a fairly unique style that I developed on my own that I call "progressive classical". It's based on classical music principles, but it combines elements of various popular genres as well as experimental and avant-garde music. However, the content varies, some is more "prgoressive" than "classical" and vice versa. I still use blank cassettes to record my music (since they hold up better than a wav or mp3 file).

I'm one of the few that not only enjoys being outdoors sometimes, but I actually like doing hard work from time to time, since it's the most effective way to build and maintain strength there is. I may be a bit of an intellectual, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy rolling up my sleeves and doing some good old fashioned hard work. Especially in the winter, I love the cold and snow. I'd move to Fairbanks, Alaska, except that it'd be too far from my family.

If you're curious about my music, feel free to ask. I have a music channel on YouTube. I also have a regular show where I microwave random stuff for fun, and a lot of what I microwave isn't food but things like soap, light bulbs, wetnaps, bubble wrap, candles, tinfoil, printer cartridges, aerosol cans, etc.
What I’m doing with my life
As it says above, I'm focused on the promotion of my music and eventually turning it into something I can make money from.

I'm also focused on downtown revitalization (I once helped get an ordinance passed pertaining to the height of downtown buildings).
I’m really good at
Quite a few things. Memorization, learning new things, anything that involves strength, tenacity when I need to succeed, and I'm also great at self-teaching, like what I did with learning the Frisian language. I used tactics I learned from reading Chaucer's English and applied it to Frisian, and taught myself the language by reading it like English. And last but not least, music, obviously, and related to that, the "second half of the chessboard" principle (if you want to know what that means, feel free to ask).
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm really not sure, to be honest.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - I'm a huge fan of reference material. I also like to read traditional English literature. But I'll read anything interesting.
Movies - I'll watch anything good that's on. I always watch them on TV or at a drive-in. Movie theaters are too expensive.
Music - I'm an oldies kind of guy, but I have some pretty diverse tastes. I also write and record my own music.
Food - I love food. I'll eat just about anything.

As you can tell, I'm not someone with strong preferences or finicky tastes.
The six things I could never do without
1. Oxygen, 2. Water, 3. Food, 4. Sunlight, 5. Cell division, 6. Brain synapses. Or, for a less literal answer - 1. Family (I've always believed that it's ideal to have a family that loves and supports you, and my family fits that description), 2. Friends (I don't have a massive amount of friends, but the ones I do are life friends), 3. A decent sleep schedule (If I were in a situation to leave myself sleep and wake at seemingly natural times, I have a 25 hour day, exactly what it sounds like), 4. Music (I'm almost always listening to music, whether I'm working, lifting weights, playing video games, or anything where music would help, and also, I've been writing my own music and playing it for the past 25 years, with 2012 being a very productive year in music creation), 5. The internet (what I do requires internet access, plus I've learned a lot of things on the internet that I couldn't otherwise), 6. Getting out of the house now and then (I start to go crazy if I go a whole week without doing something).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lots of things, but few things in particular.
On a typical Friday night I am
Busy either working on new songs or promoting what already exists.

I know I don't have any pictures of myself uploaded, but if you ask, I'll gladly show you a picture of myself. If you're wondering why, it's because I don't want my image to be given commercial use without my consent, endorsing a product I would not otherwise be associated with.
