I am carefree, thoughtful, and thrillseeking.

My Self-Summary

I spend most of my weekends in the outdoors. Camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, canoing, snowmobiling and downhill skiing are my passions. I volunteer for a local charitable organization which takes up an evening or two each week and the occasional weekend. I hike and camp in all weather, both fair and foul. I want to find someone who can enjoy these things with me, but at the same time I want to try new things. If you have fun hobbies and activities, share them with me.

I enjoy watching movies whenever I get the chance. I like just about every genre. I've got a home theater in my house with a 76" HD screen. I don't watch much TV anymore, but there are a few programs I still keep up with. My favorite current programs are Mythbusters, The Office, Family Guy and Dexter.

I love to travel and have visited almost every state in this country. Few regions have impressed me like the Northwest. Some day I would like to do some foreign travel. I like to do adventurous things. I've tried and enjoyed rock climbing, white water rafting, spelunking, mountain climbing and many other activities. Someday I'd like to sky dive, get certified in SCUBA, or go bungee jumping. I think it would be a fun adventure to live in Alaska for a few years. I'd like to find someone to share all of these experiences with.

What I’m doing with my life

I have a great job that I love and a house that I bought almost three years ago. I am close to my family and we like to vacation together, especially at our cabin in the mountains. I like to volunteer my time because it makes me feel like I am making a difference in this world.

In the future I want to help my company grow enough that I can have more time off to enjoy life. I would like to do some travel internationally some day, especially to western Europe and Australia. I have been relatively successful in the past with setting goals and achieving them, so I expect I will accomplish most of these things.

I’m really good at

...anything related to technology. I am a nerd when it comes to anything computers, both hardware and software. I am good at using cameras and enjoy taking pictures, both still and video. I am good at editing photos and video. I have made several independent short films and like to produce live multimedia stage shows.

I am good at tinkering with do it yourself projects. I am good at woodworking but don't have the tools or space. I am good at learning new skills quickly to an acceptable level of competence. I am good at organizing things but terrible at keeping them organized. I am good at multitasking especially on the computer. I am good at downhill skiing but bad at cross country.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I read a lot of books, mostly fictional and the bigger the better. Favorite authors include Frank Herbert, Robert Jordan, Terry Brooks, Orson Scott Card & Tom Clancy. I just finished the Twilight series and plan to start reading A Game of Thrones next.

Movies: I watch a couple of movies per week and like just about every genre. Action/adventure, sci-fi and dramas are among my favorites. I am working on trying to find and see every movie on the IMDB top 250 all time movie list. I just watched "Shichinin no samurai" ranked #13 from 1954 and it was amazing.

Music: My music taste is eclectic including rock, pop, alternative, techno, country, classical, new age, 80's, ska, punk, and even Native American. Sometimes I just give the radio dial a random spin and listen to whatever station I land on.

Food: I love to try new and interesting foods and will sample just about anything at least once. There are not many things I have tried but did not like. I have a friend who raises bison on a nearby ranch so my freezer is well stocked with delicious lean red meat.

The six things I could never do without

Let's see, they say that in extreme conditions you can live for 3 minutes without air, 3 hours without shelter, 3 days without water, and 3 weeks without food.

I suppose if I were to make up the other two things they would be 3 months without a paycheck. (before the bank starts to foreclose) I'm not sure what I could live for only 3 years without. My family? A vacation? Sex? Health benefits? My Cell phone? Help me out here. :)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My personality can be classified as an INTJ. Feel free to look it up, because that describes me and what I am thinking about better than I could write on my own.

On a typical Friday night I am

I'm usually headed out of town for the weekend as soon as I can pry myself away from work. North? South? East? West? Who knows where I'm headed this weekend so you will have to just come along and find out!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

On the outside I seem to be traditional and reserved but there is another layer underneath that you have to get to know me before I will lighten up and let you see.

You should message me if

If you are even slightly interested in what you see here send me a message. I don't think you can even begin to know if someone is right for you based on a few paragraphs of a profile, so let's meet for lunch or dinner, no strings attached.
