My self-summary Propose an edit
I tend to be very down to earth, with a childlike view of the
world. I see joy and wonder in common everyday things. I love to
laugh and will
"infect" laughter on those around me.
I am a classically trained French chef, and love to cook/feed
people. I enjoy entertaining. I can cook anything from comfort food, to 7
course gourmet meal. I am comfortable entertaining 20 as I am a
cozy dinner for 2. I enjoy photography, especially people. I
enjoy people watching, and am fascinated by the human soul. Other
pleasures enjoy sword play, historical fencing, and historical costuming
(1550-1600). I am equally happy curled up on the couch reading a good book.
I tend to be a little on the nerdy/geeky/tomboyish side. I love to
learn about everything and anything. Technology doesn't scare me, and I
know to use with power tools. If I don't know something, i will
take the time to look it up, and actually learn.
I combine my nerdy passions, with sugar and power tools every fall.
I do competitive gingerbread. Think home depot + power tools +
alcohol + art + pastry chef + electrician + duck tape and bailing
wire. They look good enough to eat, but I wouldn't try it. This
years project is an old fashioned carousel, moving horses, lights,
the whole nine yards.
I live life to the fullest, and want to see, do, and touch
everything. Sometimes there are simply not enough hours in a day to
get everything accomplished. But I am centered enough to know that
doing nothing is part of living. It is safe to say, that every once
in a while... I just like to be a hermit, and hang out at home.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Job wise- I am a User Interface Product Manager for a local
software company.
I am practicing pagan- Celtic Druid.
Member of the SCA- fencing, swordplay, sewing, cooking, cannon
firing and probably soon to be brewing.
Speech coach/MFL board- I teach high school kids public address and
theatrical interpretation. I am also a member of the board of
directors.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Being creative, problem solving, organization, cooking, sewing,
public speaking, digital image manipulation, art, and
photography.
I am getting better at the pointy end goes in the other man.
I am especially good at bartering and negotiations.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
I have been told it is my baby "hazels". I think it is my big
smile, infectious laugh, and my sarcastic sense of humor.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
My all time favorite book is Through the Looking-Glass, and What
Alice Found There (bonus points if you have played the chess game
its based on). Some authors I read on a regular basis: Laurell K.
Hamilton, Jim Butcher, Patricia Briggs, Vikki Petterson, and Keri
Arther. My favorite tech books include: AntiPatterns in Project
Management and AntiPatterns: Refactoring Software, Architectures by
William J. Brown, pretty much anything published by ORielly or
WROX.
Movies... Ghost in the Shell was fantastic, and I just saw Wall-e.
Loved it (loved the zippos).
Music is really eclectic. I will listen to anything once... twice
it it wasn't too bad. My iPod has Bach, They Might be Giants,
Sisters of Mercy, NIN, Yes, Rush, Vivaldi. I like 80s music, not
really into rap or other music that is headache inducing.
I'm a chef... it is hard for me to pick a favorite cuisine. But if
I had to choose... I would have to go with 'yes'.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Knife kit- what chef
would be caught without the tools of the trade.
Fire- its clean, pure and must be respected.
Books- keeps the mind engaged and stimulated.
Duct tape & rope- really no explanation needed, it's duct tape
and rope (I realize this is two things in one... but really people
can you have one without the other?)
Nikon camera- an extension of my eye and the window to the
soul.
Laptop w/power cord and wireless card- I'm nerdy... what can I say.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
People. How people interact with their surroundings, material
objects, other people. I can spend hours people watching. I am
utterly fascinated by them.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
1. Curled up on the couch with a glass of port/red wine, just
unwinding from the week
2. Cooking and having friends over to enjoy food, conversation, and
probably port.
3. Working on some sort of sewing project that I have bartered
myself into.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I am texture/tactile junkie. I love to touch things that have a
pattern or texture. Shirts, towels, velvet, carpet, skin... you get
the idea.
I have been told that I am trouble- in progress (which apparently
is part of my charm).

You enjoy good food, good company, and laughter. Must understand
that a sharp wit, and a sense of humor that runs the gambit of PC-
to not even close, is not a bad thing. Strong, rational,
intellectual women don't scare you. Think a good time can be had at
home depot. Understand fire. You are willing to try anything
once... twice if it wasn't too bad.
Believe that people are individuals first, and not defined by the
relationship they are in. You know that silence between 2 people is
natural, and not an awkward void. Accept that it is ok to be both
friends and lovers. Understand that it is good to have activities
that you can do as both a couple and as individual-without guilting
the other party. You know that being alone, is a good thing, and
not a statement that there is something wrong.
If you want to relax over a pint of Guinness or glass of port while
discussing anything and everything under the sun, I'm your girl.
