Recently making an entrance onto the dating scene after a long intermission. My best friend opened my account and wrote my profile initially. I've edited it bit by bit as I learn more about this site and what I want to get out of it.

I care deeply about people; it's allowed me to cultivate wonderful friendships that mean the world to me. I'm analytical and introspective. Extended conversations with creative people excite me. So do open discussions of relationships, sexuality, gender roles, etc. I'm very active and keep quite busy. I'm also Spanish-English bilingual and need more Spanish-speakers in my life, dates and friends alike!

I'm a professional dancer, one of those rare, lucky individuals who gets to do what they love for hours everyday. I earn my living translating, mostly psychology journal articles. The balance of physical/visceral/creative and stationary/intellectual is really working for me. I also teach some.

My blond mane has a sort of Where's Waldo effect, makes me stand out in a crowd.

Books: Impossible/too daunting to choose.
Movies: La Dolce Vita, Chinatown, Donnie Darko, Strictly Ballroom, Cabaret, The Lives of Others, Wet Hot American Summer, everything Pedro Almodovar ever made.
Shows: Twin Peaks.
Music: I listen to a lot of different music but favorites include Madeleine Peyroux, D'Angelo, Fiona Apple, Django Reinhardt, the Punch Brothers, Aventura, and recently...vintage LLCool J. I listen to more hip hop than anything, it gets me moving.
Food: I have a fondness for quality finds in beer and wine and am a pretty adventurous eater. Ethiopian, Indian, and Spanish food have a special place in my heart (stomach).

My next travel adventure. An active fantasy life is how Chicagoans get through winter.

I perform a lot and attend as many arts events and shows as possible. Otherwise I can often be found out and about with friends in Logan Square.
