My self-summary
I'm a self-proclaimed home body, but I also like to get out and do things too. Movies, plays, bar rarely, museums, coffee shop with friends (though I don't drink coffee), taking random classes, dangling my feet in the water from a dock at midnight, etc. I'm very casual and low maintenance. I'm most comfortable in jeans and a shirt, but am not opposed to putting on make up. I sometimes do it out of boredom or time to kill before heading out. lol

If I could travel more I would. I've been out of the country twice and would love to do it again. I enjoy seeing new places and people and learning about cultures and people in general.
What I’m doing with my life
5 days a week I'm at work at a daycare. Despite having training in massage therapy, I do enjoy working with the kids. My day-to-day life keeps changing. I just started taking belly dance again, and I can't believe how much missed it.
I’m really good at
finding reasons not to go to sleep when I should. I wish I could say I was a really good at sleeping. (It's near midnight as I write this and on my mind apparently)
The first things people usually notice about me
Honestly? Probably the fact that my skin is very pale. lol My family does not tan, but I also don't try either. I've gotten so comfortable with it that I think I might look a little funny tan. A friend of mine says that it's that I'm usually smiling. I try to have a good sense of humor, especially when it comes to myself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I've lately been reading a lot more "fantasy" type books lately. Patricia Briggs, Anya Bast, Terry Pratchett (probably 2-3 books of his), and things like that. I'm not too picky as long as I can get lost in the story.

Movies: This is hard because I have no specific genre I watch. Here's some movies I own to give you an idea: Pan's Labyrinth, MirrorMask, Fight Club, Memento, Gone With the Wind, Sherlock Holmes, Secret of Roan Inish, Om Shanti Om, Dogma, Death to Smoochy, City of Lost Children, Ink, Stage Beauty, etc.

Shows: I don't watch much tv at all. I loved Dead Like Me, Daria, Simpsons, and any show that isn't a soap. I cancelled my cable, so any series will be watched online or via Netflix. I'm in love with the new BBC series Sherlock.

Music: I'm pretty open minded when it comes to music except for most country and some rap. I love my rock, pop, celtic, comedy (a la Weird Al), etc. I switch between genres all the time. I've seen things from the Backstreet Boys to Sevendust in concert. I believe the most recent was Disturbed. (good show)

Food: Despite being lactose intolerant, I love cheese. lol I grew up with a very bland palate in food so I'm trying to expand. I'll admit I'm not a fan of sushi because of the nori (the seaweed part). But hey, at least I've tried it.
The six things I could never do without
Other than the obvious?
1. people: friends, family, co-workers....mostly just people I like.
2. my bed: it's mine and I have it the way I like it.
3. lactaid pills: I'm lactose intolerant, but these babies let me eat things like cheese.
4. trees: they provide oxygen, I can hide under them when it's really sunny so I don't get too sunburned, and they provide something necessary for bonfires.
5. blankets: I keep the house a little cool, but nothing is better than curling up in a blanket
6. passport: first, it needs to be renewed, but this lets me see parts of the world I can't drive to.
honorable mentions include my camera, socks, art supplies (I'm not great, but I love doodling and just mixing colors), and the ability to sleep in on the weekend.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything and nothing simultaneously. Even when my mind is wandering, I'm not sure I'm paying attention to it. That and where I can find a fun place to learn to speak Irish. Yeah, no one speaks it, but it'd be great fun to learn.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out at the coffee shop with a group of friends to just sit and chat and laugh. I actually don't drink coffee, but the man behind the counter, who knows our group well, can mix me up something awesomely coffee-free.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Mannequins kind of creep me out. Not the ones in the stores selling the over-priced clothes. The ones in the museums made to look like they're a caveman killing the lion or signing the Declaration of Independence. I'd blame it on horror movies, but I don't watch many of those either.
