I am independent, quirky, and opinionated.
My Self-Summary
I enjoy
reading,
cycling,
watching
films/
cinema trips,
pubs (especially if
pool is included),
skiing and
ice skating, among other things. I'm
terrified of spiders, maggots and heights. I love
driving my Suzuki Swift, especially
when very little traffic is on the road (rare unfortunately). I
have also decided that driving a van is great fun, which is lucky
as that is a major part of my stopgap job. I like to keep fairly up
to date with technology, but it doesn't like me - computers, cars
etc always decide to play me up, and it's always obscure faults
no-one's ever heard of!!
I have a tendency to burst into song for no apparent reason,
sometimes without realising. If I could sing I'm sure this wouldn't
be a bad thing, however the only time anyone would ever actually
want me to would be if they wanted a room quickly cleared of
people. I find this very unfair, on behalf of both myself and those
around me!
Ideal casual evening out would involve a pub, plenty of chat and
ideally a pool table, not that I'm any good as I never get the
chance to have a go! I'm not keen on clubs, as I don't dance (or
rather can't; suppose both are correct). Besides, I like to at
least be able to hear myself think while out, and ideally I'd also
be able to hear and make myself heard in conversation - not
particularly feasible in a club atmosphere.
I have various pets, a dog, a cat, 2 guinea pigs and 4 birds. I
always feel sorry for the sob story, and therefore most of these
are rescued.
What I’m doing with my life
Recently started working as a dog trainer, I've wanted to work with
animals (especially dogs) for a long time so it's ideal for
me.
Enjoying living in the south for the first time in many
years...must admit to a certain guilty pleasure when family in
North Wales tell me it's raining, while here it's sunny! Edit -
just realised this is why everyone gets the impression I'm from
North Wales! I'm originally a southern girl (English), though I
left Dorset at a pretty young age, and still feel more at home down
south.
I’m really good at
Jinxing anything technology-related!
Enthusing about anything that interests me.
Making a shopping (or other) list, then leaving it at home.
Unfortunately, giving a bad first impression - a housemate once
told me (while drunk) that she had originally disliked me based on
her first impression, but fortunately reviewed her opinion as she
got to know me. I believe this may also be my problem in job
interviews!!
Embarrassing myself...such as the time I accidentally threw my
bottle of Coke out of the car window while sat in a traffic jam,
and got out of the car to fetch it (I hate littering), noticing as
I did so that the woman in the car behind me was finding the whole
incident utterly hilarious. This is only one of many, many, many
incidents...funnily enough, always in full view of a great number
of people.
The first things people usually notice about me
A question probably better asked of the people who meet me!

My Swift
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I'm going with my life (not one that'll ever be fully
answered until my death, surprises always get in the way of the
best-laid plans)
What to have for dinner
Why people order a super-size meal with a DIET coke
The transience of life
What to get as birthday/Christmas presents (even with a lot of
thought I'm still hopeless)
Whether I locked the door
On a typical Friday night I am
Same as any other night, meant to be sorting everything out after
the house move...in reality, procrastinating for a while, reading a
book/watching a film, then crashing out, blissful in the knowledge
that I have weekends to myself for the first time in ages.
Wondering how long it will take me to build up a social life in an
area where I don't know anyone!! :D
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Just thought of one of my most shameful experiences... having to
buy a Westlife CD (as a Christmas present) :( I really hope the
recipient understood how difficult that was for me - shows the
lengths I'll go to for a good friend!!
