My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
When I first started out on okcupid, it asked me to describe myself with three characterizations. They ended up being; I am endlessly fascinated, a bit of a geek, and easily amused.

I joke around, mess with friends, play computer games, draw, play ukulele and run a science blog. Next to my other gazillion hobbies, I am quite adept at entertaining myself.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently finished my Master degree in Behavioural and Cognitive Neurosciences. I know, I know. It sounds fancy/nerdy. But in truth it was a lot of fun and now that I finished my education, it feels very strange.

I very recently got my first (temporary) job in Utrecht, so I moved here from Groningen. Exciting! Now I'm slowly discovering the city and its people :)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Imagining things. I'm a creative person at heart. I wouldn't say I'm -good- at drawing or writing or photography or playing the guitar or piano or any of the other 50 hobbies I have. But I'd be a very unhappy girl if I couldn't do any of them. I get fascinated easily by something, but I lose interest easily as well. This means that every week I want to learn a new skill, whether this be juggling or solving a rubicks cube or playing a song on the piano or cross-stitching.

This also means I have a vast array of (semi) useless skills. ("Look ma! I can shuffle a deck of cards in a fancy way!")

There are just too many fun things to do out there and too little time to learn all of them or just learn all of them well.

The things I stick with most though, are drawing, writing, photography and playing my ukulele (badly).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm happy. And a bit of a geek.

People say I always look on the bright side of life, apparently to such an extent that some of my friends are betting on when I will snap and cry for 6 months straight ("No-one can be that happy!")
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Discworld is my true love.

Movies: That's a hard one. I watch movies religiously. It's hard to compare genres. But if I have to name, say, three; Magnolia, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, Lost in Translation.

TV shows: Dr Who, Horizon, The Walking Dead, Person of Interest, Agents of Shield, Brooklyn Nine Nine, Community

Instead of naming all the music that I love, here's a link to my page :)

Food:I like almost anything, except, maybe, mussels and eggplants.

Games Half-life 2, L4D(2), Portal(2), Discworld MUD, Serious Sam, Batman: Arkham Asylum/City, Minecraft, Fistful of Frags, Terraria, Starbound, FTL, Don't Starve, Guns of Icarus, DayZ, Zomboid
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-Music, or spotify
-The Internet
-Ample time to spend on my creative outbursts
-Games (Valve, how I love thee, let me count the ways.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Well, everybody thinks about life and decisions and future plans and what not.

Ignoring those things, I spend a lot of time thinking about stories. Random imaginary movie scenes and story plot lines. Sometimes I write them down, usually I don't. I get inspiration for these from the oddest places and on the least opportune moments. I just drift off in my thoughts.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home behind my desk, with spotify on volume 20 and surfing the web, drawing things in my sketchbook, writing a story, playing my guitar/ukelele/keyboard, killing zombies in L4D, reading a book, suddenly deciding I need to learn how to contact juggle, playing drums on guitar hero, dancing with friends, solving rubic's cubes, singing along with my favourite song, minecraft, catching up with my favourite tv shows, having silly conversations with friends or watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I prefer The Beatles over the Rolling Stones :o

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're a funny, interesting person who just wants to talk to another silly person about similar interests. We can geek out over things together. Or you can take me on a holiday to Spain where we will have wild adventures and assimilate in the local culture.

DON'T MESSAGE ME IF: You're homophobic, or sexist.
I'm pro abortion, euthanasia, gay marriage, and so on. If these things bother you, or your opinion differs significantly on these important social issues, messaging me probably won't result in a reply.

I unfortunately had to put up this disclaimer because a lot of guys messaged me who obviously clash with me on these issues.
