My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm fairly new to this whole online dating scene. I figured I'd give it a try since I rarely get to meet new people outside of school, work, or when I go out with friends.

I don't know. Summarizing myself is a bit difficult. I am full of contradictions, like most people:

I am moral but have not always done the right thing
I am old-fashioned but am liberal
I am well-mannered but enjoy being silly
I am truthful with my thoughts but do not always volunteer them
I am open-minded but hold steadfast to my morals
I am a planner but also can be very spontaneous
I am organized but still can live with messes
I am talkive but can be shy at times

You get the idea, I'm sure.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently, I am going back to school full-time while raising my eight-year old son, as I juggle part time work and numerous extracurricular activities. In-between those responsibilities, I try and devote any free time I have to my social life (and friends) and the seemingly fleeting pathetic amount of sleep I get.

One quick rant: Please use some introspection if you're a woman who "has kids" and/or "wants them": Please do not be one of those horribly judgmental/hypocritical woman who'll consider branding a scarlet letter upon me for being a single parent. I didn't have a crystal ball to know my marriage would end. I don't have a million baby mommas, nor am I a deadbeat dad. Point is, you might as well change the status to "does not want any children" (and don't message me) if you hold it against me that I had a child in wedlock. Obviously, you either don't want children or have a crystal ball to know if your marriage won't fail :P

I'm just a guy who, like you, is looking for the right person [end rant].
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Anything I put my mind to. Seriously.

Ego aside, probably the number one thing I am best at is handling crisis situations (where others are paralyzed by emotion, fear, uncertainty, etc.).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My wit and manners. Sometimes either my formality or care-free, child-like spirit, depending on my mood and level of comfortability.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I really don't have "favorites" but I'll list some of what I like:

Books: The Giving Tree, The Elements of Style, Homer's Odyssey, Dante's Inferno, The Good Soldier, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and JTHM.

Movies: Any thing well-made.

Shows: The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, True Blood , Adventure Time, Regular Show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Justice League Unlimited, Young Justice, Ultimate Spider-man, The Avengers, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Doctor Who.

Music: I like all genres of music. I'm not joking. (For example, the music I first personally picked in my childhood to listen to was Nine Inch Nails, Mozart, and the Beetles.) My appreciation for all forms of music spread out even greater as I got older.

Food: Everything . . . I mean EVERYTHING.

Games: I like nearly every game. I'm certainly a gamer, whether it's board games, card games, console games, computer games, or miscellaneous games. The only types of games I don't like playing are mind-games :P

Sports: I have an appreciation, understanding, and ability to play all sports, though I am not a fanatic.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Let’s be real: This is probably the stupidest question for OKCupid have define people. I mean my answer, like everyone else's, has to fall within six forms, any one of which a reader can relate to and connect with (The literal, the humorous, the mundane, the philosophical, the informal, and the moral).

It doesn't help anyone narrow and help with compatibility.

I can forego everything and live with nothing (philosophical). However, I do need air (literal) and I'm not sure if i could live without my cell-phone (mundane). Of course, I cherish my friends/family (moral) and would simply die without Pokemon in my life--gotta catch 'em all (humorous). Now, I suppose I could also ignore the question altogether and continue ranting (informal). I mean, wasn't this supposed to be a simple list of six things?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to improve my and my son's life, how to do better with all tasks I have undertaken, and how to help others more.

How people can think "visiting" a profile and not leaving a message (whether interested or not) is somehow not creeping.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I am either . . .

A) Doing homework or handling other responsibilities;
B) Hanging out or going out with a friend or two;
C) Entertaining myself with TV, a movie, and/or video-games;
D) Sleeping; or
E) Being a loser and surfing the web.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Isn't this question a bit paradoxical? How can anything I admit publicly still be private?

Ask me a question and I'll answer it.
