My self-summary
I'll start with the most trivial thing I can think of: I don't know my exact age. My mother was a hippy type, and I was probably born in a tent! We lived all over the place when I was a little girl, she and my daddy moving every few months, and thanks to them I know the country as well as the city, the ocean as well as the desert. I've ridden camels and snorkelled in some of the greatest reefs of the world, and I'm looking for people who aren't very fit to do a long, slow cycling tour of say, european countries! I'd love to visit the gallery museum of Joan Miro...in fact I've a huge hunger for galleries and museums generally - especially modern art but apart from that I'm not such a shocking nerd really - I love pool, used to ride motorbikes and still love loud music...and I'm happy to go just about anywhere. Lucky for me I have friends scattered around the globe so I have good excuses to do it too! This year or next I hope to cross the Arizona desert, and to visit the house Max Ernst built. I'm hoping to spend some time in Queens looking for a cheap place to live and frequenting what I hope will be romantically drab cafes full of starving artists. As a painter, poet, writer and former commercial artist, I hope I can be just as pretentious as the worst of the talkers!

I am new, friendly, and curious
What I’m doing with my life
I've just said a loving (and temporary) goodbye to science, and my next degree I hope will be in something creative (unless I do something more substantial in geology!)..I thought I might travel a bit more first, getting to know the louder side of London, some of Europe (and perhaps live a short while in France, Holland, Spain and Italy and perhaps Greece) and get to know parts of the US a bit better - New York and Berkeley - California - maybe live a while in San Francisco before I decide...also keen to know Virginia and more about the South
I’m really good at
playing Miriam Hyde badly. I think she was sort of like me in one way, poor woman. But then I love opposites - as much as I love these stern women, I love Marilyn Monroe whose playful little girl ways were so enchanting and to me, irresistible, Hyde, like Elizabeth Schwarzkopf (or is it Schwartzkopf) was more of a man inside a woman in appearance as well as thought...I've always admired the fact that there is something machine like about Schwarzkopf's sexy approach to her art...whereas Janet Baker lends the Elgar Sea Pictures more of a mellow, womanly timbre, a maturity that many contralto and mezzo soprano do not share. Having a voice like squeaky rubber my soprano can hardly compete....which is probably why i dont spend much time any more singing (though I used to do vocals in bands..

I compose my own tunes too - jazz, classical and avante garde.... though it sounds pretentious, I don't really like music because it's sort of insular and self-serving...doesn't contribute to life much outside of itself, doesn't show us many new insights about things, and isn't a tool we can work with to explore new frontiers.
The first things people usually notice about me
short, prettyish, boop shaped and quite chubby, laughy, playful.

then they get to know me of course. mwahahahaaaaaa
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Monster Club, The Truman Show (movie), Industrial, Thai Truman was a bit shallow and gimmicky but near enough to art, monster club was a delicious tawdry feast, love some A Perfect Circle remixes, a bit of Leftfield, Underoath - even Justin Timberlake's reworkings of ACDC are pretty cool....but this question is silly really,. Used to like techno and hate it now. All this question really answers is where you've been (ie in what narrow circles of society you've been moving)....it tells you very little really......I used to like the goons, fawlty towers, the simpsons, and I might have listed curries as a favourite thing to cook, but I'm just as fond of plain toast and a glass of water as i am curry
The six things I could never do without
Arguing, cuddling, racing, making noise, being quiet, travelling and learning.

What i CAN do without: counting, arithmetic, rules, habits, routines, points of view that dont move on new evidence
I spend a lot of time thinking about
travelling, studying, the shape of things, the connections between things. And i spend just as much time not thinking. I love not thinking almost as much as I love sleeping! In some ways life feels like a long swim. When you get to some point where there's a milestone of some sort, it serves only as something to push yourself off against doesnt it. There's no place to rest, and that's why I'm thinking now that I somehow want to carry a little home about with me....have some stillness at the centre of the delicious chaos of frenetic learning and travelling that is so important....
On a typical Friday night I am
seeing a band, playing pool, staying home playing piano and writing some tune, asleep, swimming, cycling to a friend's
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
1) technical language is very sexy. 2) I'm a secret amateur linguist fascinated by indo-european and the Black Sea 3) I'm fascinated by archaeology and 4) Einstein is a bit of a father figure for me 5)I've a very open mind and I crave novelty. Whatever it is I've probably done it or at least considered it seriously. The best drugs in life are free. (well, not all of them, laugh)
