I am outgoing, spontaneous, and friendly.
My Self-Summary
Hello, my name is Amy, or Amy Blue. I live in Flint, Michigan. I'm
20, single, and bored. I'm short, "curvy," and feisty. I'm
extremely forward and outgoing, I say what's on my mind. I actually
don't have a brain to mouth filter, which can get me in trouble.
But, you'll always know I'm telling you the truth. :) I'm a kind of
blunt person. I don't really do the whole catty thing. Or the
whole.... subtle thing. But I like to cut through all the bullshit
and just be genuine. I'm very friendly and easygoing, I can get
along with most people. I'm a little spontaneous and unpredictable,
but I keep things interesting. I have a sense of humor the size of
Seattle, and can make light of most situations. But when the time
comes to be serious, I can buckle down and solve a problem.
I don't really like doing these profile descriptions about myself,
I'd rather show than tell. So if you have any questions or don't
believe me, feel free to ask. :) I'm looking forward to getting to
know new people.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently living at home with my grandparents. Yes, I'm the
loser still living at home. :) But I'm working my butt off at my
job for Speedway as the all-purpose bitch, and saving up
money.
I attended one year of college at the College for Creative Studies,
an art school in Detroit. It was amazing. But expensive. So now I'm
focused on more mundane aspects of life, though my eventual goal is
always to be a comic book artist.
I spend most of my free time drawing or writing. I hope to be
published soon. :)
I’m really good at
As mentioned, I like to write and draw. Mostly I'm good at drawing
people, though I'm practicing drawing other things. I'm fairly
talented, in my own opinion, but I have lots of room for
improvement.
As far as my writing goes, I write anything from short 1 to 2 pages
creative essays, to short stories, to longer novel length comic
books. It's been awhile since I've written just a plain story, as
now a days I prefer to combine my two loves. So I do some short
writing pieces, and then scripting for my comics. I'm currently
working on a series of books that all take place within the same
universe. They center around different characters, who don't
necessarily know each other, but whose lives and fates are
intertwined and connected. It's slow going but I really love the
characters and spending time on it.
As far as illustration goes, I need a lot of practice, with
anatomy, perspective, backgrounds. But I'm pretty good at conveying
attitude and emotion. I've been drawing since... always, but I
started serious drawing in about 5th grade, so I have perhaps ten
years under my belt. And I'm getting better all the time. Currently
I'm not at a level worth publishing, but I'm working on my story
and my art simultaneously, and hopefully by the time I finish the
script, I'll be talented enough to illustrate it!
The first things people usually notice about me
I suppose appearance wise I'm fairly average, I'm short with brown
hair and blue glasses. But as soon as I open my big mouth I'm a bit
more memorable. I'm a little odd conversationally, extremely
opinionated and uninhibited in expressing my opinions. I'm
unusually friendly and forthcoming. Sometimes I come on strong and
give people the wrong impression, but really I just like meeting
new people and making new friends. I can get along with most
anybody, there are a few rare people I can't stand, and if I don't
like you I do not make it a secret. But at least you'll never have
to worry about trying to figure out what I think about you. I'm
very friendly though, and quick-witted, so I like to quip in about
various topics. Don't worry, I always have something to say. But
aside from being outgoing and slightly blunt, I'm easygoing, and
really enjoy meeting people. So drop me a line. :)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
As far as books go, I love to read fantasy/fiction, and I have an
affinity for horror. Some of my favorite authors are
Jim Butcher,
Chuck
Palahniuk,
Brett Easton Ellis,
Amy Hempel,
Phillip Pullman and
of course
H.P. Lovecraft :).
Then what I really enjoy is graphic novels.
Watchmen is an all-time favorite of
course, as well as the
Sin City series and basically anything
my Frank Miller or Alan Moore.
Black Hole is another huge favorite,
Y: The Last
Man is very good, I just finished
Transmetropolitan, which
definitely skyrocketed to the top of the list. Yes, I know, I'm a
huge nerd. :)
I love movies. Lots of movies, lots of genres. Mostly I love
comedies, I HATE romance movies or chick flicks. I adore action
movies, Shoot 'Em Up movies (Shoot 'Em Up = best move ever btw) and
I'm also a big fan of Wuxia. Comic Book adaptation movies are
another huge fav, but only because I'm a huge Comic Book fan. :)
And of course I have an undying love for horror. I love Asian
horror. I love slasher horror. I love American horror.
Supernatural, Serial Killer, Kung-Fu, anything. I love good horror,
and I LOVE bad horror. Terrible special effects? Bad acting? No
plot and tons of blood? Winner. The worse they are, the
better.
I'm a huge music fan as well. I can't sit still and I love to
multi-task, so I listen to a lot of music. I usually prefer rock,
most of what I listen to can be classified under "Alternative." I'm
not really into pop, rap or country, but pretty much anything else
is fair game. Some favorite bands are
Oingo Boingo,
The Cranberries,
Evans Blue,
Eve6,
Hot Hot Heat,
Barenaked
Ladies,
Alan Parson's Project,
Alexisonfire,
Cloud Cult,
Cobra
Starship,
Escape the Fate,
Fuel,
Default,
Gorillaz,
The Knife,
Mindless Self
Indulgence,
The
Used,
Panic! At the Disco,
She Wants
Revenge, and
Toad the Wet Sprocket.
Quite a variety, but what I listen to changes based on my
mood.
As far as food goes, I don't like spicy food, but I'll eat pretty
much anything. I have a huuuuge weakness for sweets. Which is where
my extra weight comes from. :p
The six things I could never do without
The Internet. For sure, I am a huge internet addict.
Music, also a music addict.
Pets. I am the crazy cat lady through and through. I could never
live without pets.
Friends and Family. I rely on others, and I'm blessed with some
great friends and family members. They carry me through the hard
times. I get by with a little help from my friends.
Hmm, my laptop I guess? It combines most of those
can't-do-without's into one. Easy access, total addiction.
Wal-Mart. You want to know how pathetic Flint, MI is? There is
NOTHING to do here. And everything closes at 9. So what's open 24
hours? A restaurant called Star-Lite and Wal-Mart. So my friends
and I wreck havoc upon Wal-Mart at 3 am. It's funner than it
sounds, because it's a supercenter, so you never piss off the same
employee twice. Plus, they're not paid enough to give a shit.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My future. I don't know what I want to do for sure yet, so I think
about plans. I think about my writing and drawing almost all the
time. And I spend a lot of time with family and friends. Though
most of my time is spent thinking of story ideas and character
development. I think of my characters as real people, which is
helpful when putting them in situations. I'm lucky to have two
great younger brothers, one of whom is ten and the other of whom is
almost two years old! I spend a lot of time with them, they're
amazing guys, we have a lot of fun together.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either home, on the internet, or out with friends. I don't really
lead an exciting life. Sometimes I go to my mom's for the weekend
and hang out with my brothers and my sister. I'm definitely a
loser.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Uhm... I still pick my nose sometimes? (I don't eat it
though.)
I should mention, I have bipolar disorder, so sometimes I'm a
little unstable. It's mostly under control, thanks to years of
treatment. But yes, I am crazy, so, be warned I guess? Heh I don't
know. I'm not like, schizo or anything!
You should message me if
You're looking for a geeky girl to chat about nothing with. :)
However I'm very friendly and love meeting new people and making
new friends.
I like geeks, people who are intelligent, and people with whom I
share a common interest. I'd prefer not hearing from anyone close
to 30, I'd like to stick to my own age range, however it's a case
by case judgement call.
Also, don't message me if all you have to say is, "You're hot."
Thank you for your opinion. Next please.
Other than that, I'm pretty friendly and easygoing. Bored? Drop me
a line. :)
