My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a graduate student of Classical Studies (Greek and Latin) in Indiana, working for my doctorate. That is another way of saying that I'm a nerd :-) I tend to come across as shy and reserved to strangers, but I love to make people laugh, so friends know me for my silly/playful sense of humor. I am often confined to a library in my studies, but I love to be outdoors when I get a chance. There is a part of me that would gladly be off on an Indiana Jones style adventure or even exploring the galaxy in the Starship Enterprise if it were possible.

I read Greek and Latin literature for a living, so of course I love Homer, Vergil and friends. As far as more modern authors go, I love Jane Austen, Douglas Adams, Carl Sagan, ummm I'm forgetting lots of things, but mysteries, sci-fi, and fantasy are always fun (that goes for books, movies, and tv).

I like many old-timey movies like Casablanca, Singin' in the Rain, and Roman Holiday, but I think my taste is pretty varied in general. My taste in music is similarly old-fashioned. I love Sinatra, Ella, and Bille, Big Band and Swing. I love Jazz, especially Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, John Coltrane, Art Blakey, Stan Getz, to name a few. There's a pretty wide range of other music I enjoy from Chopin to Queen to Dido, but those ol' jazz standards are what really move me.

I probably watch much too much TV for a grad student. But, hey I need something to keep me entertained while I grade, right? Many of my favorite shows are Sci-Fi (Doctor Who, Firefly, Star Trek), Brit/ Masterpiece Drama (Downton Abbey, Sherlock), silly comedy (HIMYM, New Girl, Mindy Project), and silly crime/procedural (Justified, Burn Notice, Castle, Bones), oh and Daily Show/ Colbert Report, of course!

I'm pretty adventurous about trying different cuisines. I love Italian, Chinese, Thai, Indian, and Middle Eastern the most, and food with some spice to it is preferred. I take great joy in cooking as well, especially food with a little Mediterranean flair.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
oy, everything, sometimes it's hard to get my brain to shut down :-)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing with my colleagues at a local watering hole or small social gathering, maybe playing some board games or, honestly, studying (grad student life, y'know?)
