My favorite book of all is "The Stranger" by A Camus. Rounding out
my top 5 (for now): "Siddhartha" by H Hesse, "Lamb" by Christopher
Moore, "Darkness at Noon" by Arthur Koestler, "Into Thin Air" by J
Krakaurer, and "Of Mice and Men" by J Steinbeck.
My favorite movie is Dr. Strangelove. I tend to gravitate towards
obscure comedies. I dig Wes Anderson's movies (Rushmore, The Royal
Tenenbaums, etc.) and the Coen Brother's flicks (The Big Lebowski,
Raising Arizona, Barton Fink, and O' Brother, Where Art Thou?). Any
time I'm flipping through channels and come across a John Hughes'
80s movie, I'll stop and watch. Random others: Pulp Fiction,
Godfather I & II, Goodfellas, Bladerunner, The Shining,
Clockwork Orange, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Life of
Brian, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
TV shows I enjoy in no particular order: Family Guy, Breaking Bad,
Doctor Who, The Walking Dead, Louie, The Big Bang Theory and
I don't think there's enough room here for me to list all the
particular bands I listen too. My iphone playlists are generally
overrun with Indie Rock, Classic Rock, Punk, the Blues and random
other stuff. Sample of bands: Modest Mouse, Arctic Monkeys,
Beatles, Zeppelin, Beastie Boys, The Kinks, The Clash, The Pixies,
Spoon, The Strokes, The Exploited, The Damned, The Brian Jonestown
Masscre, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Supergrass, Allman Brothers
Band, Liars, Fugazi, Queens of the Stone Age, Wolf Parade, Sex
Pistols, Buzzcocks, M.I.A., Public Enemy, N.W.A., John Lee Hooker,
Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Nico Vega, The Beets, Willie Nelson,
Johnny Cash, Vampire Weekend, The Smiths, Those Darlins, Mr. Gnome,
The Vaccines, Screaming Females, ELO (yes I said ELO. so
underrated!!) and the list could go on and on.
