I am gourm(et/and), clueless, and jocular.
My Self-Summary
I am an Oaklander, opening my horizons by seeing what OkCupid is
all about.
Now in French
Salut a tous!
What I’m doing with my life
Fortunately, I have a career that is aligned with one of my
passions; I am a cosmologist. So maybe I can say that I ponder the
mysteries of the Universe. I play my bass to relax. I try to keep
the plants in my garden alive, with mixed results. I perform
intelligence tests on my cat, mostly negative results.
I’m really good at
picking up superficial knowledge on any subject.
The first things people usually notice about me
My acerbic sense of humor.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I Claudius, The Gay Science, Principles of Quantum
Mechanics, Harold and the Purple Crayon
Movies: A Clockwork Orange, Airplane, The 400 Blows,
Hardboiled
Music: I like most all music, lately I have been listening mostly
to classical and jazz. I have a permanent attachment to the prog
rock, heavy metal, and cheezy pop songs of the 70's and 80's. Bleak
and happy punkish music. And anything with a good bass line.
Food: I have a bias toward korean (hamheung nengmyun!) but I'll eat
just about anything.
The six things I could never do without
Bach's Chaconne - best piece of music that I know of
Bacon - perhaps not the most profound piece of meat but yum
My bass - stress outlet
Bike - primary mode of transportation
Jeans - simplifies my wardrobe
Library card - to read and borrow tools
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Eternal recurrence, language, what to have for lunch, the problems
we leave for upcoming generations. The Universe.
On a typical Friday night I am
either having a Mai Tai with friends or crying myself to sleep
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
One of my crowns has made a tour of my gastrointestinal system,
while I was traveling in Europe.

bouche.
You should message me if
you feel the inkling.
