My self-summary
I'm a recently graduated RTF major from UT Austin. I've just moved to Burbank and I've got an assistant job at a small trailer house.

I'm a pretty big movie nerd. Back in Austin if I told someone that I was a film student, people would respond with something like "Oh, cool, how interesting." But now I'm in LA. In LA, such a comment warrants little more than rolling of the eyes and a "Oh sure, another one who thinks he'll make it." But I want to be an editor, so it should be alright. I think. Editing is something I'm very passionate about.

I'm a very easy going, low stress guy. I highly value creativity and I can't stand pretention. I'm also totally apathetic when it comes to watching sports. Robot Wars and Ninja Warrior are about as close as I get.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm looking for work as an assistant editor in the world of movie trailers.
I’m really good at
I'm getting better at blues harmonica. I'm still working on it, but I'm currently good enough for a campfire.

Also I have a useless superpower. Give me any movie and I can probably guess it's imdb user rating within 0.3.
The first things people usually notice about me
Who knows. They don't tell me. But why would they? They just met me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Jimmy Corrigan the Smartest Kid on Earth, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Brave New World, Born Standing Up, Fun Home, Black Hole, Ender's Game, Chew, Goon, Locke & Key (mostly comics and graphic novels)

TV: Duck Dynasty, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Mad Men, The Wire, Louie, Freaks and Geeks, Parks and Recreation, Girls, It's Always Sunny, Peep Show, Eagle Heart, Children's Hospital, Misfits, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!

Music: The Presidents of the United States of America, Whiskey Shivers, Reggie Watts, Blitzen Trapper, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Lyrics Born, The Solilaquists of Sound, T Bird and the Breaks, Cake, Rodrigo y Gabriella, The Black Keys, Caravan Palace

Favorite Humans: Bill Murray, Ed Wood, Andy Kaufman, Charlie Chaplin, Mitch Hedberg

When it comes to movies, I'm an omnivore who can enjoy any genre, but recently I've been really into 70s/80s horror and camp. Movies like Chopping Mall and Samurai Cop. I go in and out of movie watching trends.
The six things I could never do without
Movies
Wheat Beers
Comedy
Dogs (Sadly, I don't currently have one in LA, but I love dogs)
My Garmin (saves me on a regular basis)
Opposable thumbs (helpful for opening doors and holding shit)
On a typical Friday night I am
At a laid back, cheap, social bar with friends. I'm finding these are much harder to find in LA than in Austin, but I'm not the loud pumping club type at all.

And of course, catching a movie always makes for a good night any ol' day of the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think The Powerpuff Girls was a pretty great show. Severely underrated.
