My self-summary
Two things:
1. I love to know things.
2. I like to please others.

So simple!

For levity, a joke:

Did I tell you about the wedding I went to last week?
It was so emotional, even the cake was in tiers!

Hohoho. Hilarious. I knew you would think that was funny!

Video games: check. (TERA at the moment...) Some other favorites... FFXI (no longer), the Portals, Elder Scrolls Daggerfall through Skyrim, the old King's Quests, the Sims (I AM a girl), all of Mario but none of Zelda (I'm SORRY). Message me if you can recommend a good horror game! Yes, I've played Amnesia and Slender.

Board Games: check.

TL;DR: Nerd. Fine with it.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a teacher! I've taught kindergarten through second grade so far. I currently teach in DC which is a far cry from where I grew up in Howard County, MD, but I love it. I feel like teaching is a nice, quiet way to make a lot of little differences in the world.

During the school year, my students rank pretty high on my concerns/interests/topics of conversation, so I apologize in advance.

I can talk about other things too though, I swear! Read on, reader!
I’m really good at
Grammar! And spelling. My handwriting is amazing. Those are really boring things to be good at (at which to be good?).

I'm also pretty awesome at Mario Kart and Guitar Hero, and I can throw down on any trivia challenge you bring.

I'm really good at having solo adventures (not that I wouldn't mind a duo adventure! That sounds like a bad pun...).

To date: Chincoteauge in the winter (so austere <3), Atlanta (WHALE SHARKS), Harper's Ferry (I love hiking!).

Upcoming: Cherry Springs State Park, PA (darkest place on the east coast)!
The first things people usually notice about me
I guess people notice my height. It's pretty tall for a girl?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything that can not in anyway be considered a classic. I am an English lit major, and I hate literature. There, I said it. Ok, not all literature. But honestly, some of it is very boring.

I do love to read though. My favorite book OF ALL TIME is probably Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. That's a hard call though. The series as a whole is amazing... up until like the 6th book. Then it got a little too Ayn Rand for me.

Some other favorites: Kushiel's Legacy, The Black Jewels... saga, The Last Unicorn, The Giver, A Wrinkle in Time, Harry Potter until JKR ruined it with that last book.

I've been more into non-fiction lately. Usually its educationally focused, but I'm starting to really like travel diaries (i.e. Bill Bryson). If I can't actually visit these places, I can read about them, right? RIGHT?

I LOVE to read stuff in order. When a new book in a series I like comes out, I will frequently return to the first book and reread all the old volumes up to the newest. It's possibly my favorite thing to do. I like to do that with TV series and serial movies too.

Movies! I like them. I'll watch really anything, but there are a few I can watch over and over. Here they are: Star Wars (even the new ones because I love Natalie Portman), Garden State, V for Vendetta (that's it for Ms. Portman), Phantom of the Opera, Little Miss Sunshine, Amelie, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Fifth Element, The Emperor's New Groove, anything Miyazaki, most things Disney, more Shyamalan than I should.

TV! The Office, Family Guy, IT Crowd (British. If you haven't seen it, you haven't lived.), Black Books (see previous comment), Parks and Rec, Supernanny (natch), 3rd Rock from the Sun (ah the 90s), a few anime here and there (no not Naruto, Death Note, or whatever it is the kids are watching these days).

Music. I like everything (YES EVERYTHING), but I don't like anything to such a degree where I could form a serious opinion about it. Some names that might match up with your names: Bright Eyes, Taylor Swift, most anything from a musical, Mindless Self Indulgence, Owl City.

Currently playing: The Lightning Strike - Snow Patrol. It's on a continuous loop.

Food. Like it. Hate mushrooms, actual tomatoes (not tomato flavored things) and most things that are still in a shell. Out of the shell though, yum.
The six things I could never do without
1) My desktop computer (circa 2002!).
2) Iphone. Yeah, I know.
3) Something to read!
4) My dad.
5) The internet. HOW DID PEOPLE LIVE?
6) The sound running water makes.
7) Mint! I love the smell and taste!

7. Rebel without a cause.
On a typical Friday night I am

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
"Sometimes we don't do things we want to do so others won't know we want to do them."
