My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi there. I'm not crazy about summing myself up in one big blurb, but here's a few snippets.

My name is Angela (in case you couldn't guess from the super-creative screen name), and I'm originally from West TX. That does mean I'm from the South, but I've never felt completely like a "country girl". I'm kind of an introvert, but the right people can bring out the extrovert in me. I'm fairly quiet but I have a lot to say and I can be funny and goofy when I get going. I love good/deep conversation, hugs, music, singing, art, reading, movies/tv/theatre, chess and other board games, some video games (mostly old school), and outdoorsy stuff like camping, swimming, etc., when I have the time and money to do it. I also love animals, and have 4 dogs (it was 2, but they got frisky and didn't use protection).

I'm new to OKCupid and not completely sure about the whole thing, but I'll see what happens. Honesty is a big thing for me in a person. Intelligence/creativity is awesome. It doesn't have to be poetry, but expressing yourself intelligently on here would also be a plus (though I know it's different when you're chatting in person). Fun, funny/witty, and easy-going is also great. I hesitate to list any more adjectives, because I really don't know if I have a "type". I guess I'll know it when I've found it.

There's a lot more, but some mystery is a good thing, and I'm sure this is already two paragraphs too long. The rest can come with time.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I was a vocal music major for several years but I'm currently just working at a bakery, having found an interest in cake decorating/"food art" (right now I make really pretty fruit-topped butter tarts of my own design). So I'm hoping to learn more about that, and/or figure out what I want to do with my life. I still want to do something with music, art, or writing, but I'm not sure what. I also love animals, photography, psychology, theology/philosophy. Don't know if those will be viable career options, but there you have it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing, drawing, writing, playing piano (could use more practice), learning lots of useless trivia, making pretty things at the bakery... probably a few more things.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I really have no idea. I haven't ever asked that I can recall. My eyes and smile maybe? Or possibly that I'm incredibly pale.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books- I haven't been reading actual books as much as I used to, but I like non-fiction stuff like C.S. Lewis, John Eldredge, etc., and comedy stuff like Dave Barry and Cracked's De-Textbook. I like some comics, like superhero stuff and the Buffy comics. There's a lot more, I just can't think of them. I've read fiction and I'm open to suggestions, I just never have the patience to sort through the book store and find something. Otherwise I read fact-based comedy websites (like Cracked), articles, news, and other stuff.

Movies- Way too many to name. I like action, superhero movies, nerdy stuff like Lord of the Rings, sci-fi, some indie stuff, some love stories, occasional horror, old movies, musicals, drama, comedy, etc.

TV- Also too many to list. BBC's Sherlock is my new favorite show. I love Buffy, Angel, Scrubs, Whose Line is it Anyway?, MST3K (however, this doesn't mean I personally like talking during movies), Orange is the New Black, Bones, Castle, True Blood, Frasier, Friends, Family Guy, That 70's show, Big Bang Theory, Fallon, Ferguson, Southland, Burn Notice, stand-up comedy, some old 90's shows like DBZ, etc.

Music- That's a big one. Whatever I'm listening to is usually a good indicator/reflection of the mood I'm in. I won't try to name artists. I like all kinds of music-opera, classical (romantic period tends to be my favorite), some pop, rock, some hip hop, trip-hop, funk, blues, jazz, latin, soundtracks, oldies/standards, the occasional country song, singer/songwriter, stuff that defies genre, whatever I can sing to, etc. I'm always open to new music. I am picky and opinionated about it since I'm a big music nerd, but I try not to be too much of a snob about it. Spotify is my friend.

Food-American, Italian, some Mexican, some French, etc. I will admit I'm pretty picky but I'm open to trying new flavors and things...except for most seafood. And I don't like chocolate of any kind. There, I said it. Weird I know.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family, friends, music, my car, my pets, and my faith (though I struggle with it sometimes like anyone else).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life, people, the future, my faith, world events, nerdy stuff. I think too much.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working or doing something fun (which might mean going out or staying home and watching Netflix). I'm sort of a homebody, but I love the outdoors and going places, when I can find something to do. Always open to ideas in this tiny town.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have psoriasis (auto-immune skin disorder, not contagious). Just putting it out there. It's been just about 99% clear since I've taken meds for it, but I will never have completely perfect skin. I'm used to it.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-You're brave. I'll try not to bite. And I know it may be old fashioned, but I like when a guy messages me first. A conversation starter other than "hi" or "ur cute" would be awesome.
-You're a good, honest, interesting guy (preferably with at least one common interest.. that's not too much to ask for, right?). It'd be cool to have someone to geek out with about certain things.
-You share similar values..and don't smoke or do drugs. I've never smoked and don't plan to. Don't really fancy the idea of kissing a smoker or being around it all the time. Also if drinking/clubbing is a major hobby/habit of yours (or basically the only thing you do to pass the time), we probably won't really get on well.
-You can sing or play an instrument. It's not a requirement or anything, I just think it'd be cool to meet someone who loves singing and music like I do.
-You're looking for more than a "good time". I willingly admit I'm a virgin and I'm cool with it until I'm married, so please look elsewhere if that's all you want. AKA no hookups or creepy come-ons, please. And dude..if you're older than about 35-ish, it's too old for me. Come on now.
-You don't have kids. I have nothing against you and I do love kids, but I'm not ready for that yet.

Might as well try and start a conversation if you've bothered to read this far.
