I am Thoughtful, Kind, and Intelligent.

My Self-Summary

I'm kind of new at this, and not especially confident in how to portray myself on a dating profile. I'm trying to be as honest as possible, however, so please bear with me. In truth I find picking adjectives to describe yourself as kind of conceited, but really, who writes anything negative?

I'm 6'3", as it says in my profile, 180 lbs, with brown hair and eyes. The photo is just O.K. and taken with my sister, but it's what was available, sorry. I mostly enjoy spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, hiking or kayaking. I also enjoy playing pool and have nothing against going to the movies or bowling for a fun night out. I am also an avid reader and enjoy most things related to politics, philosophy, and European history.

I would also like to use this space to clarify some things on my profile that may be a little disturbing due to the limited options provided. I occasionally smoke pot at parties or gatherings, however not frequently, and I am not looking for someone who uses it as a day to day crutch to get through life. The same goes for alcohol, where as I'll have a beer after work a few times a week, and occasionally tie one on, I believe in moderation and responsible use. Cigarettes are a habit I'm trying to break, yet I don't judge those who smoke. Beyond these I have little tolerance and anyone who uses "hard" drugs is not of interest to me, sorry.

As far as religion is concerned, I have the utmost respect for those who follow the tenets of most major religions. I consider myself spiritual as opposed to religious largely because I simply do not believe in God. I don't think that something that important can be forced or faked, even if many of the principles closely align with my moral outlook.

I like to think of myself as a tolerant and flexible person and am in no way looking for a carbon copy of myself in those I date. I think it's important to have both things that are enjoyed together as well as those enjoyed apart to maintain a healthy relationship. If any of this sounds appealing, and I haven't scared you off yet, than please let me know - I'll enjoy talking with you.

What I’m doing with my life

working, trying to straighten out my life and find things that make me happy.

I’m really good at

Conversation, listening and responding to what is said instead of waiting for a chance to further my point.

The first things people usually notice about me

My height.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I read almost everything but some of the fiction authors I enjoy on a lazy afternoon are, Robert Jordan, David Eddings, David Drake, Terry Goodkind, Terry Brooks, Peirs Anthony, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Tom Clancy, Anne Rice, Sidney Sheldon.

My movie taste are pretty varied as well but some of my favorites are, The Usual Suspects, Primal Fear, Man on Fire, Enemy at the Gates, Dogma, The Princess Bride (c'mon who doesn't), The Count of Monte Cristo, Interview with the Vampire, Happy Gilmore, Suicide Kings, and anything directed by Quenton Terentino.

Musically I usually listen to classic rock and 90's rock/alternative. I also will listen to some rap, country, pop, classical, and metal depending on the artist and environment.

I'm not a fanatic about food but when I go out I enjoy ordering seafood that I haven't tried before.

The six things I could never do without

Freedom, family, friends, books, nature, being able to express myself.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

History, philosophy, politics and how to organize my life.

On a typical Friday night I am

Working, but on a Saturday I'm out at the bar for few hours with friends or shooting pool, then back home with a good book or movie.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

That I think this is a good idea.

You should message me if

If I interest you and you're honest with who you are and what you want.
