My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Update: I have finally left the wilderness of Carbondale behind and am now happy to call Evanston home. I've only been here a couple of days but so far I love it. I'll update further when I get real internet and not just on my phone.

These self-summary boxes sure are intimidating... Where do you start?

I'm 37. I have a degree in Cinema that I love but do not use. So I watch a lot of movies of pretty much any genre. My favorites are crime/film noir and my least favorites are lame romantic comedies. It'd be pretty awesome to meet a girl who wasn't afraid of subtitled or black and white movies.
I also read a lot (both comic books and novels), listen to many different kinds of music (I currently have 60,000+ songs on my hard drive) and play video games. Yeah I'm a geek. :-)

I guess the last thing that needs addressed here is that I have cerebral palsy due to complications from being born two months premature. I use a power wheelchair to get around. I live on my own. Ummmm I'm not sure what else to say on this subject, so if you have a question feel free to ask.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I worked for 10 years at Disability Support Services at SIU doing many different things from freshmen orientation, to personal assistant to office work. I liked it a lot but it ended a while back. I'm between jobs and opened to suggestions. LOL
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I poccess a LOT of trivial knowledge. I'm really into movies, books and music and I'm constantly looking for new and exciting things to watch and read. I enjoyed analysing and discussing those things.

I'm a good listener. I'm good for a lot of cynical and sarcastic comments. I'm also an honest, loyal friend.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Most people seem to notice the wheelchair first, which is a drag. After that, I own like 300 tshirts so I get a lot of comments whatever one I'm wearing at the time. I've also been told I'm pretty funny.

I love Film Noir both of the classic period like Out of the Past, Sunset BLVD, The Setup and Kiss of Death and neo noirs like LA Confidential, Chinatown, Memento and Le Samouai. The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My cat
2. my powerchair
3. music
4. a computer
5. movies
6. a couple of good friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What movie or album to download next, random bull shit, what job might be interesting. Wondering where the time has gone...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Depends. I like going to the week's new movies. I'm still adjusting to life in the North and figuring out things to do.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
eHarmony was once kind enough to tell me that I wasn't compatable with anyone in the world!

Let's prove those bastards wrong. :-)

You think I sound cool.

When I was filling this out, my friend said I should hide the fact that I'm disabled and only tell someone once they like me. But I couldn't do that. It just seemed... sleazy. And I'm not ashamed of who I am.

But the lack of responses from 90%+ matches makes me wonder if he wasn't right.

Listen, I'm NOT looking for a mother, a nurse or a therapist. I'm very much NOT paralyzed or asexual. I am funny and smart.

check out my college thesis film It's a kind of fictionalized comedy about me.
