I am Not going, To describe myself, and In 3 little boxes.

My Self-Summary

I'm pretty sure music can solve most of the worlds problems. By that I mean it can improve my mood almost always insofar as I stop caring about the world's problems.

No, that's not true. I actually care quite a bit, but I do love a good tune while caring. I also enjoy poetry. So, there's that.

I like to salsa dance. I do it badly now but I won't always and I'm looking for someone who wants to be my dancing buddy.

I just moved to Seattle and it still feels a lot like a vacation to me even though I'm working virtually all the time, so I'm looking to experience everything without a ton of the nonsense that usually bogs us down once we've lived somewhere for a while.

What I’m doing with my life

Seeking out new good music, singing around my apartment and probably annoying the shit out of my new roommate, eating all the amazing indian food there is in this city, walking a lot and drinking a lot of coffee on drizzly days while imaging myself the star of a movie montage. Also, I work for a local non profit. Woot!

I’m really good at

I'm going to skip this part. Not because I suck at everything but because it makes me really uncomfortable. Is that unhealthy? I must be terrible in job interviews.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm kind, I've got sexy librarian glasses, I ask a lot of questions.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Ok, this section I can get on board with. I love Mountains Beyond Mountains and just recently found out it's required reading for all incoming U Dubb-ers (is that what they call themselves?), which is badass.
Tom Robbins, also a Washingtonian!, is completely insane in a brilliant, sense-making way.
The Fall by Albert Camus is a lovely piece of nihilist devastation.

As for music, Ani Difranco has been a favorite since high school. Ryan Adams, Josh Ritter, Regina Spektor, Lucinda Williams, Tom Waits. Lately I can't get enough of "Skinny Love" by Bon Iver or "Oxford Comma" by Vampire Weekend.

The History Boys is an excellent play turned movie....I like movies well enough, but everyone seems to be in love with them or have "favorites" and I can't really say much has moved me besides that one.

The six things I could never do without

Really really fucking amazing music.
Billy Collins' poetry.
Ummm, tiramisu! Although apparently I can do without knowing how to spell it correctly.
Rainy days :)
Good beer.
Annnnd....of course there's all the obvious things like food, family, water, sex, love, friends, working organs and things...

I spend a lot of time thinking about

We'll just use a catch all and say "Social Justice". Also, what I'm gonna eat later.

On a typical Friday night I am

Lately I've been going to bed early so I can not be a grumpy pants at work the next morning. But things are slowing down so that I have weekends like a normal person. So I imagine something along the lines of alcohol consumption, and red town painting :)
I like dive bars a lot.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I go on and off this website because I know people have a stigma against "dating" sites and that bothers me.

You should message me if

You want to dance with me.
You are a go-with-the-flow type.
You listen well.
