My self-summary

Midwest Girl Next Door living in the Big City...
Self-proclaimed nerdy chick (more with the liberal arts than science, BUT with a healthy appreciation for science, technology and the requisite Star Wars / Star Trek debate). I am transforming into an active lifestyle that includes lots of walking, hiking, running, yoga and strength training.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am working as a paralegal/legal administrator at a law firm in downtown San Francisco. My travels these days tend to take me to the midwest or Florida to spend time with family. However, I was in Europe for the first time a few years ago,and cannot wait to do more international travel.

My recent local adventures include, but are not limited to: a trip to Lick Observatory on Mt. Hamilton, Bhangra dancing, ocean kayaking, horseback riding, zip lining. Next on the agenda is tandem hang-gliding.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Organizing, orchestrating, trouble-shooting and using my super powers for good...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
You will notice my naturally curly hair, green eyes, my "celtic complexion" (English lit speak for pale with freckles), my friendly demeanor, my midwestern folksy charm, my wit and sometimes my sarcasm.

TV Shows: Fargo: Outlander; Longmire; The Killing; Homeland; Game of Thrones; Sherlock; Downton Abbey; Orange is the New Black; House of Cards; and Food Network fare.

Music: Classical is the best (especially Beethoven or Vivaldi), and just about anything Baroque; Rock/Top 40 (i.e., Mumford & Sons, Regina Spektor, Imagine Dragons, REM, Depeche Mode, The Clash, U2, etc...,) Also, I do enjoy live jazz in small venues.

Other: NPR - Morning Edition, Fresh Air, This American Life, Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me; Ted talks, iTunes U: and podcasts (Serial, Freakonomics, Invisibilia, Radiolab).

Food: I keep it healthy. I don't eat flour or sugar. I do eat out, but my meals are pretty "clean" and unprocessed.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
And not necessarily in this order...
1. Certain gadgets like iPad, laptop and iPhone
2. Hot showers, lotion, Blistex, good hair product and other personal grooming items;
3. Being outdoors, especially in Northern California;
4. Ellipses (Emily Dickinson had the dash... I claim ellipses as mine...);
5. Family and Friendships; and
6. Intellectual Stimulation in its many splendid forms.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Plotting my escape route out of the city in the event of a zombie apocalypse.

Contemplating the Drake planetary equation as it applies to dating.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either at gym or watching the waves at Ocean Beach.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was coined the nickname "Lucy" in my younger years. Apparently, I look a little bit like Lucy a la the Peanuts comic strip... and I could be the tiniest bit bossy. Although, I've never pulled a football out from someone racing to kick it. And as a side note, I do like gentlemen with musical inclinations (cue Schroeder).
