Retired, financially independent, secure, so to speak, I work part
time on occasion. Widowed (though SO and I never married), single,

What I’m doing with my life
Starting a new one. Trying to.
I’m really good at
Cooking, conversation, homemaking, art (painting, no sunday
watercolors), various areas of knowledge and expertise, writing,
Science, Politics, etc. General world knowledge (I like to
imagine.) Breaking down complexity. Traveling. Translating.
The first things people usually notice about me
No-sides attitude, big but subtle mouth, as in chat or blarney,
green eyes, unremarkable clothes, no snob.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I don't think this matters much. I read novels, history,
biographies, books about math, Science, comics, women's magazines,
daily papers, and the phone book. And more.
Music: Bach to Beatles. I have no musical gifts at all though I come from a deeply - yikes that is journalistic blah - family.
Food: French cuisine, Chinese, Swiss traditions, Middle Eastern, all interesting. Polynesian? Know nothing about it, gotta try it.
Movies. Not recently, at all. Got hooked on Mad Men - the first TV series I ever watched in my life! Watched all of season 1 and 2.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I don't know that I spend time thinking about anything, outside of
some set work tasks. That is serious thinking involves notes,
investigation, a frontal attack, using all means available. Musings
about what color towels to buy or fantasies about different worlds
hardly count as thinking..
On a typical Friday night I am
Cooking for guests and then partying or doing nothing because I got
up at 4.30 ..
