I've been here since it was SparkMatch. Answered more questions than I care to recall, bothered a lot of girls, fought off a couple stalkers, and even got accused of being a stalker; and have a bitchin' fiancee to show for it.

I am minty, sarcasticynical, and adjective-y

I'm not doing much of anything with my life. I aspire to one day have experienced the kind of existence I can refer to not as simply having been alive, but lived a Life. This is increasingly unlikely as aspiring is not very productive on its own. Effort has never been a big part of my routine, not until the very end when every other option has been avoided or intentionally failed.

The only thing I ever do for myself is buy toys, collectibles, and other related shwag. The best place to do this is dealer rooms at cons, be they comic, anime, or sci-fi. Frequenting cons has found me involving myself gradually in costuming, beginning with an embarassing turn as Laguna from Final Fantasy VIII. Later projects placed me in jedi robes and an A-Wing flight suit, as well as the guise of the Dread Pirate Roberts. My next project is likely to be some KotOR-style jedi garb. Simple as it sounds, my art-car earned a place between the the Rebel Legion and the 501st at last year's DragonCon parade, and once again this year - so I'd better put more work into it...

I have a habit of being outwardly nothing in particualr despite any degree of inwardly-directed sensations, be they overpowering glee or enthusiasm, bitterness or displeasure. This skill has developed in tandem with my ability to (eventually) rationalize away most all kinds of feelings.

I'm really, really good at avoiding face-to-face conversation. This comes mostly from the fact that I don't know how to make it. I can ramble about myself, or recall the names of trivial films and actors, or any other kinds of irreversibly irrelevant words, but smalltalk and chit-chat are not within the realm of my ability. The simple mechanics of back-and-forth idea exchange are so alien to me that I have been known to spend multiple hours, on separate occasions, in close, social situations with friends of friends without ever joining a conversation the rest of the room is actively taking part in. Consequently, I'm really good at making otherwise normal social situations a little uncomfortable for everyone else.

Seriously? The only thing I ever hear is that people see a look on my face that makes me seem bored, angry, disgusted, depressed, and completely unapproachable. I am none of those things and all of them, but my face will never tell you which. I'm not making any face on purpose. That's just what my skull looks like with skin stretched over it. Come up and talk to me already. Tell me to stop looking so damn moody, I don't care. Just say something.

Food: Well, concerning food, I'm more picky with dislikes than what I like. For instance, I do not ingest mushrooms, onions, mustard, or seafood if I can avoid it without committing homicide. Other than that, I'm a big fan of the big sammich, burgers, ethinc food that doesn't taste like ethnic food, and, oh yeah - Cheesecake. I might just hurt someone for a good slice of cheesecake.

This will never be a good question, no matter how many times they change it. Never have I seen a response in this field that made me think "Oh, now I need to talk to that person..."

Should I be literal? Witty? Ironic? Would anybody care if I chose one avenue over the other? I'd like to say I choose to ignore this question. Clearly, that is not the case.

Where to put all the toys, collectibles, and memorabilia I keep on buying. My room has officially overflowed. Posters moved from walls to ceilings to make space to hang action figures. Back issues of magazines fill my dresser drawers while laundry is piled neatly on the floor.

Watching whatever I rented, DVR'd, or went out to see with my lady.

Possibly as many as a third of my current obsessions/hobbies are things I picked up just to impress a girl - and couldn't stop doing after it didn't work.
