So I'm thinking what I had written here was...well, boring.
So here goes take number two.

I'm a genuine, nice guy with a funny personality.
I'm the dad of a young little boy who is my world.
I love music and stories and all sorts of good things like that.

I will do almost anything to get a smile out of someone I care about. My little boy is three, so he's generally a pretty easy target. For a woman, I generally try a bit harder.

This is the first time I've ever tried anything like this and it sort of sucks because I'm a lot better in person. Please try not to judge me if my message isn't super witty and "original." It's really hard to send messages blindly that contain everything that is me. But take my word for it. I'm AWESOME.

I'm a professional writer.
The pay isn't always what I'd like, but I'm on my way.
Will I ever be rich? Time will tell. But I'm in the middle of taking charge and taking advantage of the opportunities before me.

I'm currently writing a novel. So if you like to read, this is clearly a plus. Anyone I date for any length of time will undoubtedly be reading this book as it will take up a lot of my time an energy for a while.

Listening to my friends and offering advice.
Ideally, writing.
Music, enjoying and making it.
Being in the moment.

Laughing about a bad situation. Things don't seem so insurmountable if you can mock them.

I suppose you'd have to ask them.

But I get comments about my smile. And my shaved head.

And typically, my sense of humor.

I'm a voracious reader. Probably 50 novels a year or so.
It comes with the job. My favorites are typically genre books. I am a huge fan of crime novels and heists in particular.
A personal favorite writer is Donald Westlake (or as his pen name, Richard Stark).

Movies, again, I try to watch as many as I can. I enjoy classics like Casablanca and The Great Escape, foreign movies, action, comedies, arty fare. I studied film in college and was exposed to a number of great things, but it mainly convinced me that there are great movies in virtually every genre. It's just a matter of finding them.

I'm a huge music fan as well. I love The Who, Elvis Costello, David Bowie, 70s era Stones, and other awesome classic rock.
Again, I'm pretty open and adventurous. I have a passion for 70's soul music (Donny Hathaway, Al Green, Bill Withers, Otis Redding) and an extensive music collection. I love reading and watching movies and going out, but music is really what does it for me.

Oh, that varies greatly. Ideally, something fun. Even if that fun is had quietly.

Stuff like that is better told in person.

You enjoy creative, entertaining people.

You want someone who'll probably care about you whether you deserve it or not. But I bet you will.
