I am keenly observant, chivalrous, and paleocentric.

My Self-Summary

I've become a semi-tech nerd in recent years, even though I carry around a keen awareness of my ancient hominid origins. (and yes, I misspelled my nickname intentionally.) I like to play various MMO's on my pc, but I'm not an addict.
I sometimes think I was born in the wrong epoch by mistake, but when I sit down to enjoy a bowl of Cap'n Crunch- all is right with the world.
I am a sculptor; mythology, science fiction, paleontology and fantasy themes. I worship nature; and from time to time I encounter humans who are actually a part of it. Imagine that!
I do not believe there is a god; If I am wrong, however, I suspect he/she/it resembles a burnt-out homeless Vietnam vet, bumming change on the street, and plum out of ideas. (I would have the impulse to give him/her/it some change, but it would just be spent on booze I'm certain.) Ok, closing the little metaphorical window into my mind...

What I’m doing with my life

I have been a freelance sculptor for most of my adult life, but I have now put that on the back burner for a few years. I still create lesser works often, but my focus now is on my DVD business.
I have such an enormous collection of rare films from all eras and many countries, and a vast knowledge of film in general, that I decided to start making money from it. (Coming to a web page near you.)
I don't equate what a person does to make money with what a person 'does' with their life, so I'll fill in this space accordingly;
I observe very deeply, very thoughtfully. I am very selective as to the kind of people I open myself to and/or associate with, but when the right type comes along I open up easily.
I spend considerable time pondering the nature of our existence, our collective history and possible future.
I also spend much time (and effort- it's not always a passive process) viewing the life-metaphors contained in various forms of art, such as music and film. This includes both high-brow and often, the lowest low-brow in popular culture- preferably from the 60's and 70's. 'Lost In Space' would be an example. I have often enjoyed spending a lazy afternoon with a couple friends, watching Dr. Smith's folly and having an intellectual discussion about the implications of his brand of crass, selfish stupidity, and its modern real-world analogs.
On a somewhat more sober note- I've been known to go out into some remote natural setting, and simply experience all the vivid yet subtle happenings around me. Watching nature for a few minutes can be a bit boring- but watching it for a few hours can have deep, profound rewards. Finding someone who understands this would be amazing. I'm not talking about going out and hugging trees and chanting AUM with a bottle of wheatgrass juice, but really opening the self up to experience what is out there, and seeing that it's also 'in here.'

I’m really good at

Sculpture... Cooking... Photography... Conversation... Listening... Being content without the need for god-belief... Collecting collectibles for my collectible collection... Massage... Being a good friend... Cat Juggling... Observing... Being reasonable... Cooking... Punctuality... Saying the right thing at the right time... Saying the wrong thing at the right time... Eating with chopsticks... Kissing... Being patient... Being impatient when required, and understanding the difference between the two... Locating hard-to-find movies... Convincing people that paleontology actually IS fascinating... Making coffee... The list goes on, but... my modesty forbids.

The first things people usually notice about me

Probably my long hair and my blue eyes, and the fact that I am soft-spoken and articulate.
In the colder months, when it's suitable for me to wear my long black leather coat and beret, I look like a member of the French resistance.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books... Mostly nonfiction; archeology, paleontology, art history, pagan philosophy, natural history, human history, mythology, cosmology, zoology etc... Some fantasy (Tolkien) and science fiction.

Movies: Far too many to list; Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, EXCALIBUR, Walkabout, ZARDOZ, Soylent Green, Planet of the Apes, The Shining, ALIEN/ALIENS, Indy Jones, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Blade Runner... suffice to say, anything is fair game as long as it has some style, thoughtfulness (or mindlessness on occasion) Intellectual appeal, biting social commentary, visionary foreward-thinking, or pure strangeness. The above list doesn't even attempt to list the oldies, (1920's - 1960's) as there are far too many to even get started.

Food: Yes please. Japanese (sushi is a favorite) Chinese, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Ethiopian, Thai, French, German, and a good steak once in a while.
I am no vegetarian, but I am not thoughtless in my meat consumption- Well, maybe sometimes I am. Actually, most of the time I am. Oh alright- I eat meat anytime, anywhere, even raw, in the nude, on rooftops. MEAT!!!

The six things I could never do without

Ice-cold A&W root beer. (6 bottles)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Sex, sushi, social justice, and quasars.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I actually like Karen Carpenter's vanilla vocal style.

You should message me if

You are very open-minded, warm, friendly, curious about life (past, present and future) willing to look deeply, communicate effectively- even if that process takes time and effort, satisfied with quiet times interspersed with moments of passionate sexual abandon, you know the meaning of the word reciprocity, if you ever had a cruel bone in your body you've had it surgically removed, and... seeking someone similar.
