My self-summary
Quite simply, I'm a fun guy who is looking for a nice girl. I love history, politics, video games, music, football, good whiskey/scotch, playing softball, and conversing with good people. I bought a home in the city about a year ago and I'm interested in meeting people like me who enjoy the urban jungle.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a great job at Starbucks corporate headquarters in SoDo. I am very interested in furthering my career there. I am looking to find that special someone, and most importantly, have fun doing it.
I’m really good at
studying history. I have a mind for learning facts and figures and how to relate them to others. I am also a very good listener. I consider myself an empathetic soul and I believe that everyone has a story to tell. I am a total ringer at trivia contests. If you have me on your team, you WILL do well. Guaranteed. I'm also pretty funny. I bet I can make you laugh. :) I'm fantastic at impersonations. My crown jewel is Stewie Griffin from 'Family Guy'. That won me a lot of free drinks in college. I also love accents. At any given time I can bust out an Irish, Scottish, English, French, German, Russian, Israeli, Chicago, or New England accent. :)
The first things people usually notice about me
My height. I'm 6'3", so somewhat tall. I'm also a redhead, and that stands out too.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am currently reading three books. 'Uncommon Grounds: The History of Coffee and How it Transformed the World' by Mark Pendergrast, 'A Song of Ice and Fire' by George R. R. Martin and 'No Place to Hide' by Glenn Greenwald.

My favorite movies are Zoolander, Forrest Gump, Garden State, Anchorman, Star Wars, Good Bye Lenin!, Inception, and Knocked Up.

For music, I could go on for pages and pages, but a good cross-section of bands to represent my musical tastes are Bon Iver, Death Cab for Cutie, Childish Gambino, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Phil Collins, Passion Pit, Lady GaGa, LMFAO, Gorillaz, Matisyahu, and various instrumentals that pair well with anything.

For food, I like most Asian varieties except Indian. Sushi, teriyaki, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai... those are all great.
The six things I could never do without
Are we skipping the obvious air, food, water and shelter? :) If so, then I would say...

-My friends/family
-Football
-My iPhone
-Cold weather
-Captivating, stimulating people.
-Love
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My future. Ironic for a historian, huh? I think a lot about the places I'll go, the people I'll meet, the experiences I'll have and things like that. I also think a lot about my new home regarding decorations and other homeowner-related collateral. Fair warning: I am a bit of a geek. I swear I could write a doctoral dissertation regarding what super power I would want. I often wonder what it will take for my UW Huskies to win another Rose Bowl or for my Seattle Seahawks to win another Superbowl. My mind and my interest often drifts to national and international affairs: how will Barack Obama govern, now that he has won re-election? How long with Bashar Al-Assad stay in power in Syria? What will be the long term repercussions of Israel's fight against Hamas? What are the long-term costs and benefits of the bailouts to Spain and Greece? If I had a lightsaber, what color would it be? These are the random cornucopia of thoughts that swirl in my cerebellum on any given day. Strap in...
On a typical Friday night I am
I love exploring my neighborhood. I can be found usually at the Fremont Brewery which is one of the hidden gems of Seattle. I'm alsoreally in to discovering quasi-hidden, speakeasy-style bars in town. I have two REALLY good ones that I like to frequent. They are both on Capitol Hill. I do not go out ALL the time. I really enjoy staying in and either being by myself, or having stimulating company.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cry a little bit every time I hear 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Miserablés.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–32
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating
You should message me if
You want to meet a really stand-up guy, you live in Seattle, you like some of the things that I do, and would like to get a drink or something like that. As far as relationships go, please be interested in something potentially long-term. I am.

DON'T message me if:
-You just broke up with your ex in the past few weeks. Take some time between meals.

-You like to take things at a glacial pace. I appreciate going slow, but lets move with a purpose. If I like you, I want to get to know you. I'm not a fan of the 'one date a week' philosophy. I like many dates early on if there is a connection.

-You don't live in Seattle or the surrounding neighborhoods.
