When I started my graduate work at a small conservatory in Tuscany,
on the first day I was asked to light a match and tell my life
story before the fire burned my fingers. Since then I've wondered
exactly what is important about our lives. What do you care to know
about me? What do I really want you to know? Should I give a list
of credentials--where I went to school, what positions I've held,
what work I'm known for? Or do I strip all of that away and allow
myself to be vulnerable, showing things that really matter to
me--people I love, art that moves me, things I'm offended by, what
I really want to do with my life? I don't suppose I have the answer
I'll keep it simple and we can go from there, ay? I'm a graduate
student interested in physical theatre. I've spent most of my life
performing, but over the past two years or so have turned my
interest to directing and choreography. Right now I teach, direct,
choreograph and perform full-time and hope to continue after
I love language. I'm only fluent in English and Italian, but I've
also professionally translated Spanish, French and Brazilian
Portuguese. Communication is something I'm deeply passionate about
and I hope to keep learning and growing in the field, both verbal
I'm a recovering introvert, only recently becoming comfortable in
my social skin. I fall in love easily but take pride in my grasp of
logic, constantly attempting a balance between passion and reason.
Hence the username.
