My self-summary
Recently updated this considering a lot of awesome stuff has changed in the last year...

I'm a 25 year old teacher with a love of music, art, theatre, penguins, sunflowers, and the outdoors. I would spend all my free time at music festivals and concerts if given the choice. I love kids and teaching is definitely my passion. I do theatre and Im in a band... we do a wide range of covers and gig at bars on the weekend a few times a month. I like to frequent Open Mic Nights and support local music/musicians.

I'm pretty spontanious and love to go and do.... adventures are my idea of a good time.
What I’m doing with my life
Im teaching 4th grade this year and I taught kindergarten last year... its a jump but Im enjoying it. It's a ton of hard work and I'm crazy dedicated to it but I love my job and I would never do anything different. In the summer I work as the Musical Theatre specialist at a day camp and I absolutely love it as well. I recently moved to Collingswood and I'm enjoying exploring the area. On the side I'm a co-lead singer in a band. We do covers giging at bars and are starting to write some original tunes too. It's a ton of fun but does take up some of my time so my ideal match is definitely as into music as I am.
I’m really good at
I would like to think I have a pretty good sense of humor and can keep toe to toe with the best wise-ass around. I also sing and act. I'm also really good at drinking Craft beer. I also have a mean hippie dance. And I'll school you at drunk board games any day. So bring it.
The first things people usually notice about me
After being told this at least once a week... Yes. I realize I look like Emma Stone. ;-)

I'm really smilely. And I have big blue eyes. I'm one of those people that people always approach on the street for directions and such because I tend to make eye contact and smile at people.... even when it is maybe not the best idea.

I also have a crazy passion (obsession?) with music. I'm really into alternative and I'm kinda a concert fanatic. I love radio 1045 and almost everything they play. I'm not the like hipster, I read pitchfork everyday and I'm better than you music fan.... but I'm really passionate about it and the idea of a perfect weekend is one doing something music related. I also really like jazz. It's nifty.

I laugh a lot. I'm kinda loud... not obnoxiously so... I just get excited easily.

I have a kid-like spirit. I love penguins... and sunflowers. Seeing both of these things will cause me to skip... and possibly squeal.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I really like to read... wish I had more time to do it. Favorite books include the Harry Potter series (grew up with it), To Kill a Mockingbird, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, Perks of Being a Wallflower, and the Great Gatsby to name a few.

Movies are awesome. I tend to like comedies, as well as dramas and artsy films... pretty much anything except horror (I'm really jumpy). My favorite movies include Across the Universe, Almost Famous, Happy Feet, Moonrise Kingdom, and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (from the 90s of course).

Netflix has made me watch a lot more TV than I used to... I love Mad Men, Freaks and Geeks, Weeds, Lost, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and Arrested Development to name a few.

Music I talked about earlier... Some of my favorites: Mumford and Sons, The Beatles, Dispatch, The Lumineers, Janelle Monae, Dave Matthews Band, Ella Fitzgerald, Incubus, Alabama Shakes, Regina Spektor, Florence and the Machine, Bob Marley, The Civil Wars, Soulive, Delta Rae, Imagine Dragons, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals... I'm totally all over the map. I pretty much like a little bit of everything except Contemporary Country (ie. Red Solo Cup).

Some recent concerts (in the past yearish): FIREFLY (going again this summer), Dispatch (seen them four times now), Mumford and Sons, Imagine Dragons, Rodger Waters doing The Wall (mind blowing ), Grace Potter, Albert Hammond Jr. , and Sleigh Bells (plus many more... I try to see somebody play at least once a month.. Even if its a small scale show). Also a lot of my friends are musicians and I like to go out to their shows and support them whenever I can.

Food. Food is good. I like to try new things. I like seafood a lot. There isn't much I don't like. Fine dining is fun. So is going to a hole in the wall dive.
The six things I could never do without
1. Music
2. Sunshine
3. Friends
4. The Beach
5. Beer
6. Love
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Educational philosophy type stuff. I'm very passionate about bridging the socioeconomic education gap that exists between people of higher and lower classes. Where you live, your ethnicity, nor how much money your family makes should not determine the quality of the education you receive. I would like to help close that gap throughout my lifetime.

Also....

Will I ever meet a penguin? I really want a pet pig. What concert should I go to next? What's on the other side of that rainbow? What should I wear? I want to go to the beach. I wonder what kind of dog that is...... Hahaha this is my brain sometimes. I promise I can be super focused and driven too.
On a typical Friday night I am
Sharing beers with my friends. Sometimes in at someone's place, sometimes out doing the Philly scene, sometimes seeing somebody play a gig, sometimes I'm the one giging, sometimes playing board games. Ideally, always doing something social and having fun.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm pretty busy, and very career focused. Not totally "looking for love", but I would be okay with dating and seeing how things go with someone. They always say those kinda things happen when you aren't looking for them...

Also I'm still good friends with one of my exes... So yeah if you are the super jealous type that may not work.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 23–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
we have common interests, you are fun, you are extroverted, and you are NOT looking just for a quick hookup.

Also-- if you do message me I'm a lot more likely to respond if you say more than "hey" or "how are you?".
