Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a teacher with a love of music, art, theatre, penguins,
sunflowers, and the outdoors.
I would spend all my free time at music festivals and concerts if
given the choice. I love kids and teaching is definitely my
passion. I do theatre and I'm in a band. I like to frequent Open
Mic Nights and support local music/musicians.
I've been spending a lot of time biking and hiking lately. My
typical weekend has been consisting of biking to the farmer's
market and doing brunch, then a hike/outdoor/beer garden type of
activity, followed by salsa dancing at night which I'm not very
good at but find to be hella fun.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle has become a big priority in my
life over the last year. I still love pizza and cupcakes, but not
on the regular. I'm looking for someone who maintains a similar
lifestyle... It's a lot easier to stick with it when the person
your seeing also chooses spinach over french fries most of the
I'm pretty spontaneous and love to go and do.... adventures are my
idea of a good time. If I had the ability I would frequently close
my eyes, point to a map, and go there for the weekend. That would
be dope. Backpacking cross country/continent is definitely on the
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I teach fourth grade. It's a ton of hard work and I'm crazy
dedicated to it but I love my job. On the side I sing in an
acoustic duo and do theater. It's a ton of fun but does take up
some of my time so my ideal match is definitely as into music as I
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I would like to think I have a pretty good sense of humor and can
keep toe to toe with the best wise-ass around. I also sing and act.
I'm also really good at drinking Craft beer. And I'll school you at
drunk board games any day. So bring it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
After being told this at least once a week... Yes. I realize I look
like Emma Stone (I don't see it all that much but everyone
insists..). Haha... Sorry if I ruined your pick up line..
I'm really smilely. And I have big blue eyes. I'm one of those
people that people always approach on the street for directions and
such because I tend to make eye contact and smile at people....
even when it is maybe not the best idea.
I laugh a lot. I'm kinda loud... not obnoxiously so... I just get
I have a kid-like spirit. I love penguins... and sunflowers. Seeing
both of these things will cause me to skip... and possibly squeal.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I really like to read... wish I had more time to do it. Favorite
books include the Harry Potter series (grew up with it), To Kill a
Mockingbird, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, Perks of Being
a Wallflower, and the Great Gatsby to name a few.
Movies. I may be the only female alive that isn't a fan of RomComs.
I tend to like buddy comedies, as well as dramas/suspenseful stuff
and artsy films... pretty much anything except horror (I'm really
jumpy). I'm a fan of most things showing at The Ritz. Last movie
rented was Nightcrawler. It was pretty killer.
Netflix has made me watch a lot more TV than I used to... I love
Mad Men, Freaks and Geeks, Weeds, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad,
and Arrested Development, Orange is the New Black, and House of
Cards. I've recently started Californication and secretly want Hank
Moody to be my spirit animal.
Music... Some of my favorites: The Beatles, Lake Street Dive,
Arctic Monkeys, Ray LaMontagne, Dispatch, Janelle Monae, Ella
Fitzgerald, Alabama Shakes, Snarky Puppy, The Head and the Heart,
The Civil Wars, Soulive, Delta Rae, Grace Potter and the
Nocturnals... I'm totally all over the map.
I go to a lot of concerts. I try to get out to see a show at least
once a month. Union Transfer is definitely my favorite venue and
I'm pumped for the new Fillmore.
Food. Food is good. I like to try new things. I like seafood a lot.
There isn't much I don't like. Fine dining is fun. So is going to a
hole in the wall dive.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
4. The Beach
5. Craft Beer
6. My cat. Judge me all you want. Hah.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The state of education in our country, the detrimental effects of
high stakes standardized testing, the shift of math education, and
my part in all of it by having to implement educational reform that
I don't necessarily agree with.
Will I ever meet a penguin? I really want a pet pig. What concert
should I go to next? What's on the other side of that rainbow? What
should I wear? I want to go to the beach. I wonder what kind of dog
that is?...... Hahaha this is my brain sometimes. I promise I can
be super focused and driven too.
On a typical Friday night I am

The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I've been dating for a while, and was previously way too busy for a
real relationship, mainly focused on my career.
Things have shifted and I'm interested in finding a relationship,
not just someone to go out with. Hoping to find someone else that
wants the same thing.
Also I'm still good friends with one of my exes... So yeah if you
are the super jealous type that may not work.
