Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.

I'm an odd mix of music/film/book junkie with a knack for the
outdoors on a quest for something or other. I'm a dilettante in
many artistic endeavors. I paint. I play my banjo and ukulele. I
write trivialities in verse and proclaim frivolous existential
victories almost daily.
Other details? Ask away.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I read. I have cats. Sometimes I have something interesting to
Right now I am pursuing a terminal degree in English lit. This
obviously takes up much time. I focus on 20th c. American
literature, and I teach youngsters how to read and think and write.

Books: This is impossible, but I will list a few favorites. Ulysses
by Joyce; Beloved by Morrison; Blood Meridian by McCarthy;
Moby-Dick by Melville; A Confederacy of Dunces by Toole; Fools Crow
by Welch; In Cold Blood by Capote; Let Us Now Praise Famous Men by
Evans and Agee; Dharma Bums by Kerouac; Madness and Civilization by

Comics: Batman, duh. Really digging most of the new 52--sorry, I'm
more of a DCU than MU fan, which really enrages some people. I'm
teaching a class on graphic novels. I think everyone should read
more of them and realize they are awesome and not just for nerds.
Or that maybe we're all nerds, and that's a good thing.
Movies: There Will Be Blood. The Neverending Story. Raging Bull.
Shows: HIMYM, Big Bang, Star Trek, The Wire, Game of Thrones,
Battlestar Galactica, and Six Feet Under is probably my favorite
show of all time. I'd say Doctor Who, but I don't think my level of
fandom can compare to others'; I just really like the show.
Music: Classic rock and oldies: Buddy Holly, Beatles, Zeppelin,
Hendrix, Pink Floyd....all that goodness. Jazz: Miles, Thelonious
Monk, Duke, Herbie Hancock, Charles Mingus.
Food: I eat ferociously, and I make a mean enchilada.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
