My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Small update to the start here, I currently work from my parent's house during the day while helping care for my father who is becoming more disabled from Parkinson's.

Video games have been my hobby for the past 20 years. I do not play them to my own detriment... most of the time. Still waiting for a more official announcement for Fallout 4, but in the mean time Wasteland 2 is getting ever closer to completion and Star Citizen continues to amaze me. Also just picked up Bravely Default, such a lovely game. Great art and music, particularly for a handheld.

I'm a very musical person, I am always listening to music, singing, or attempting to learn more bass. I like pretty much everything but I generally stay away from rap and most country.

I am very straight-forward and honest. Chances are even if you don't want my opinion you'll end up getting it.

By the same token, I have very thick skin, so insulting me or embarrassing me is nigh impossible. However, I also wear my heart on my sleeve, and thick skin doesn't protect it so much.

I love to make people laugh. Probably one of the reasons I went into nursing.

I know just enough to hold a conversation with someone about anything. It's all relative anyhow, just a matter of finding a common point.

I own and ride regularly a motorcycle. No, I do not do anything stupid on it (they are nicknamed donorcycles for a reason in the ER).

I do not smoke, I rarely drink (and not much, I'm the DD if I do go out) and I don't do drugs. Isn't an addiction to video games expensive enough?

I love going out and staying in. Honestly I need some escape from being trapped with my old man so much.

My friends are the world to me, even if it doesn't show. We're all very abrasive towards each other, my family included. So while it may look or sound like I hate them at times, I assure it's the opposite.

I am very open to new ideas and theories.

I am well known to play devil's advocate on the side of issues I don't necessarily believe in simply to make others question their standpoint. If you aren't willing to see both sides, why pick one? Both have merits.

I'm often too nice for my own good, even if I do put up a facade about it. I often end up being a doormat for people. At least I haven't been turned into a newt yet...

If you're interested in a movie or TV show, and can tell me why it's interesting, I will sit there and be equally enthralled by it. Just ask my roommate about how much I Pawn Stars and Restoration Stars now...

I'm sure this list will grow as I get bored.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as a nurse, what more can I say? I don't currently work in patient care, but that may change some day. Pursuing the idea of going back to school for my RN.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh. It's my personal talent of sorts.

I like to think I'm also at least a decent vocalist. I sing bass/baritone currently at LBCC in a Jazz/Swing/Pop group, as well as a smaller, 8 part harmony subsection of it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Aside from being tall and skinny? No? That usually covers it really.

I could go on for days in this category!

I mostly read sci-fi novels and love Stranger in a Strange Land, Dune, Do Androids Dream?, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Ender's Game, most of the earlier Star Wars novels.

For movies I'll watch and probably enjoy just about anything. I can even handle some chick flicks.

For shows I don't really watch much TV, in all honesty. I sometimes watch Pawn Stars with my roommate and otherwise I'll watch House and Glee that I've recorded. Also - Firefly like it's a religion.

I have a predilection for anime too, but generally the more serious and thought provoking ones. Exception going to Desert Punk for just being so damn funny,

My musical tastes are pretty eclectic but I primarily listen to rock, alternative, and indie. I do have a love for old jazz and swing as well, however.

And for food, I'll eat food from any ethnicity, although I do have a strong leaning towards Japanese cuisine.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Well, I mean, aside from the obvious essentials being oxygen, hydration, and nutrition... probably my friends, my dog, my phone (but mostly for it's use as portable internet), my family... much to my chagrin at times, I'd definitely miss my wit... but I could do without my brain at times. Meh. Details.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life, the Universe, and Everything. And not just the book either! My thoughts can be everywhere and nowhere all at the same time.

I'm also constantly coming up with ideas for games, or rather, characters and adventure ideas. I should really write more of them down.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably at home, there is a slight chance I might go out with people if they invite me out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Actually, I'm pretty much an open book to questions, I'm not really too ashamed to answer anything.

But I'll give you this one - I really enjoy musicals and opera.

You want some interesting conversation, really. Or perhaps you'd like to get to know me better and we could hit if off? Who knows, there's a world of opportunity and after all, fortis fortuna adiuvat.
