My self-summary
Hello, everyone, my name's Aaron. I'm a thinker and a dreamer. I reflect on things nearly constantly, especially new things to write about and explore. While I have geeky interests -- video games, superheroes, and tabletop roleplaying -- such things don't really define me. They're just ways for me to wander through new ideas and new situations.

Right now, I'm looking for romance. I want an equal who I can be affectionate with and who will show me affection in return, someone who inspires me, someone with whom to share the joys of life, and someone who challenges me to be a better person. Because I'm all about romance being an equal partnership, I want to be able to do all of the above for a potential girlfriend.

Beyond that, you should know that I'm a very honest person, but I don't use that as an excuse to be mean. I say that because I strive to live, act, and speak with truthfulness, and I would want those I date to be the same.
What I’m doing with my life
Snagging my second Bachelor's, this one in Computer Science. I'm actually already working in the computer-y field (yes, that's a technical term), and it's a job that's enjoyable even if the pay isn't the greatest. I'd say that you can't put a price-tag on sanity.

Aside from that -- as you might guess -- I'm working on the third draft of my second novel. It's an urban fantasy story about the abuses of power and what a surprise drop into the supernatural world would really do to a person.
I’m really good at
talking to folks on just about any topic you can think of. And maybe some you can't. I'm also a fair hand at writing, collaborating, and video games, though I'm most proud of my writing skills. They've taken me a long time to hone, and they're still not where I want them to be yet.
The first things people usually notice about me
Is that I'm tall. And that I'm friendly. Either/or.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oooh, too many choices. I'll try to hit the highlights. I really like the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. PI slinging fireballs? What's not to love? I also really like Brandon Sanderson's work, though Elantris is my favorite to date. Hard to believe it was his first novel.

As for movies, I have a three-way tie for favorite. First entrant is none other than Christopher Nolan's Inception. It's a deep, layered story with a rich emotional core. Sort of like a truffle! (And truffles are delicious.) Contestant number two is Joss Whedon's the Avengers. It's basically the best superhero movie out there. Last but not least is the Fountain, which is a movie that requires you to engage with it to grasp its heart. There's really nothing else like it.

Shows are way down on my list, as I don't watch TV all that much. If it's any indication, I haven't had satellite or cable for something like nine months.

Music is slightly higher up than shows, but I really only like select artists: Imogen Heap, AFI, and Tiesto. Otherwise, I'll try just about anything except for really angry hardcore.

And, then, food. I always like things with meat or pasta. Dishes that combine them are twice as good!
The six things I could never do without
Computer, internet, close friends, stimulating conversation, books, and video games.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life in general and fiction in particular.

As for the life thing, my life has been a pretty hard road to this point, so that means that it was either get reflectin' or get sinkin'. I chose to do the reflection gig, and that meant that I've gotten very well-acquainted with myself and, though that, life and emotion in general.

Through all of that, fiction has been my guiding light. From video games at an early age to roleplaying games later on in high school to, finally, novels, stories of all kinds have been monumentally important to me. They've taught me so much about people and about the world, and they're never far from my heart.
On a typical Friday night I am
Relaxing at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sometimes sleep with a teddy bear when I'm feeling lonely and/or sad.
